Hook the Dvd player to the video recorder then hook the video recorder to the tv

Page 10 of the owners manual gives instructions to hook to your tv and that the same process to hook to a video recorder, just hook to the av inputs on the video recorder then hook the outputs from the video recorder to the tv.

Here;s a copy of your owners manual in pdf in case you need it

Use a video splitter for the audio and video, or go out of the DVD player in to the DVR, out of the DVR into the TV (WARNING!!!! Trying to hook a DVD player to any recording device may trigger the copyright protection, causing blue flashes, and distorted pictures)

SOURCE: JVC DCD Recorder hookup to digital TV

Yep, this recorder is NTSC analog. Sad, too - it was only manufactured in 2006 - they knew about the digital transition then. There is a possible workaround, but it depends on your TV - if your TV has a red, white AND (most importantly) yellow OUT/OUTPUT, then you can hook it to the AV IN on the back of the JVC and record from TV that way. Note: most TV's (even new ones) do not have the yellow video/monitor OUT, even if they have red and white audio OUT's.

Can we record with our sanyo drw 500 and a digital tv? If so, how do we do this?

If cable/SAT box, hook-up that box video/sound output to DVD video/sound input. If no cable/SAT box, hook-up cable from wall into antenna/cable in on DVD and tune DVD to channel wished, and hook-up DVD TV antenna out to TV antenna in. If DVD has no antenna/cable in, TV must have video/sound output. Hook to DVD video/sound input. Hope this helps.

Magnavox DV220mw9 won't record from Tv, hard to connect

check out this diagram, paying close attention to the audio video cable hookups.

assume the cable tv box represents the converter box

you are going to come out of the converter box audio and video outputs into the new magnavox dvd/vcr combo audio and video inputs.

Then out of the new magnavox dvd/vcr combo outputs to the inputs on the tv if it has such inputs. The TV will have to operate on the video input 1 or 2 if the tv has such a thing, use the remote for the tv to adjust the input signal to line in 1 or 2 depending on what it has.

If the tv has no coaxial input or audio video inputs then you might have to use an adapter, you can get these from radio shack.

You say it will not record from the tv, but in all actuality the dvd vcr combo is getting the signal from the converter box not the tv, do you understand what I mean here?

So the dvd vcr combo gets input from the converter box so you will have to set it to view signal from the line input you have plugged in from the converter box. line 1 or 2 or whatever the input is.

the tv will have to be set on the line input to view the signal from the dvd vcr combo.

That is as easy as I can put it. Study the diagram closely. You will see what I mean.

Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

VCR WON'T RECORD

you may have the outputs hooked up correctly however you may need to set the inputs to the selected type of cable you are using. S video 1 cable or video input witch is an rca adapter yellow in color. you will find these setting in the "setup section" on the remote set up button will get you there and then input or source.

Just got a new LG 42 " tv have hooked up video and it will play tapes but not able to record for some reason. Scart to Scart connection from vid to AV 1 on tv.

Scart is not always two-way, if that is the way you have hooked it up. A lot of newer appliances have one-way scart connectors, and the vid/av plugs are also wired in one direction.
Are you trying to record from the bult-in tuner to the video? Then you would also have to wire from the av-out of the TV to the video in on the video/dvd... essentially doubling up on the cables.

Set up problems

is this a dvd/vcr recorder combo? or is it just a dvd player? if it is only a dvd player, there wouldn't be a rf input. you won't be able to record or burn recordings.just hook up the audio/video cables to your tv to watch dvd's. if it is a recorder combo without a rf input or output, you may need a rf modulater they sell at radio shack for about $25.
good luck.

DVD-R120 hookup for recording

You will have to hook up your recorder directly to your TV or use as a stand alone recorder.
Other possibility is to buy a 2 way video switch. This will allow you to hook up two video machines to the same input jacks on the RCVR. You just swith between the two devices manually.
Radio Shack usually have these input swithches under $30.
