If you go to Tools -> Internet Options, you should be able to enter your home page there.

If you can't find the 'Tools' menu, hold down alt and press t

I want to set Google as my primary search engine.

From Internet Explorer
First open google.com on your internet browser then go to "Tools" at the menu of your Internet Browser. Here you will see "Internet Options". Click it, it will show you your current home page URL written down. Choose "use current" from the options and click on apply.
Google Chrome
Click the Tools menu in the browser. Select Options. Click the Basics tab. Select Google from the 'Default search' drop-down menu. Click the Close button.
from registry
Run regedit from your run menu and find this key :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
and find Search Page value and change it to google like this :
"Search Page"="http://www.google.com" "Search Bar"="http://www.google.com/ie"
Hope it helps if so do rate the solution

Win internet explorer not responding; so i have toshut down the program & start over. how do i fix this

Hi,
Usually it is caused by a failing extension or an add-on to your internet explorer. Sometimes, it is caused by the settings as well that some websites tries to add on your internet explorer. you can either reset the entire internet explorer or just put the default settings back. here's what you need to do: -open your internet explorer -click on tools -select internet options -go to the advance tab -select whether you want to reset default settings or reset the entire IE. (I suggest trying the reset default settings first because resetting the IE will delete your favorites / bookmarks as well). -re open IE and see the changes
hope this helps.

Repair Error 404 - page not found

Follow these Steps.

Open Internet Explorer and Click on TOOLS and Click Internet Options.

In the internet options, go to the connections tab and make sure the there is nothing checked in the LAN Settings window, and if nothing is checked, do an IE Reset (After doing RESET, you would loose the passwords which are saved on the personal website)

If this does not solve the issue : try this hotfix from microsoft

Cant get in to my hotmail.comes up page not available

You may have a corrupt Hotmail page stored in your Tempory Internet Files folder. Clear this out and see if it loads then.....
START - PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - SYSTEM TOOLS - DISC CLEAN UP.
Post back if this works/doesn't work for you.
Found this solution and it worked for me by running all the way through:

1. The date on your computer needs to be set properly -- double click the clock verify that
the time and date are set.

2. Clear your IE cache and cookies -- open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then
Internet Options, then click the Delete Files button, and when that's complete click the
Delete Cookies button.

3. Check your IE Security settings -- open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then
Internet Options, then Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section, and verify that "Check
for server certificate revocation" is unchecked. Also verify that 'Use SSL 2.0' and Use SSL
3.0' is checked, then click OK.

4. Click Start, then Run, and enter the following:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
then click OK

5. Restart messenger and IE

When you say that not able to download the flash player using IE and if it got crashed then i'd say please try to add the IE in DEP list.
To do :
Right click on My computer and click on properties.
Go to advanced and click on first settings button.
I've attached the screen shot.
Click on Data Execution Prevention and Choose turn ON option.
add the IE in that list.

Internet explorer (no add ons)

Internet Explorer (no adds ons) is a second browser installed with sp3 when you agree to upgrade to IE 7. It allows you to safe surf without any plug-ins like flash or other browser helpers. Its possible you accidently set it to be the default. Try to check which is loading and default and change as ncessary in ie options.
