My 6.5 yr old Haier Wine Cooler is running too cold. I set the cooler on it's normal setting of 55-60 degrees(in the front of the cooler). It will then plummet to 31 dgrees and stay there. As a result the wine is way too cold. I have tried this numerous times and it still plummets to 31 degrees I don't belive there is a thermostat knob anywhere on this cooler. What do you think the potential problem is???

  • sinks Aug 22, 2008

My unit has worked fine up until now. There is no manual temperature control other than the 2 buttons in the front of the unit, which is how you control the temperature for white and red wine. There are only 2 settings for the temperature and neither of them work. I believe these units come manufactured this way from Haier.

  • sinks Aug 22, 2008

How confident are you that it's the theromstat?? I have heard it could also be the sensor for the unit?? Also, can a layman install a new thermostat on these units???

  • sinks Aug 22, 2008

If I ordered a thermostat can a layman like me install it or do I have to get a tech to install it??Do these thermostats come with instructions?? Also, what do you mean by Gas. Freon???

  • sinks Aug 22, 2008

I hearing a couple of solutions to my wine cooler problem. Are you confident that it's the control panel. I know that's probably a big job, no worth investing in, particularly in a 7 yr old wine cooler.

do you think it's the thermostat or the control panel???

    Yes, but not totally.

Just to be on the safe-side, better have the new thermostat installed by a qualified technician.

Hi
It seems you have a problem with the thermostat mechanism in the fridge.

The only way to fix it is to get a technician to replace the thermostat and that should resolve the temp issues.

Another possibility is that the gas tank is empty and needs to be refilled with gas. Again, youll need a technician to do that

Hope that helps

This is a common problem that often doesn't have a clear, permanent solution. The first thing to check is the overall internal refrigerator temperature (see the Appliance Accessories section for a refrigerator/freezer thermometer). The proper temperature should be between 35 and 42 degrees. Here are some things to try:

  • Try turning the temperature up slightly.
  • If you find that the temperature varies a lot from the top shelf to the bottom (where it is coldest), try putting produce and other sensitive products on a higher shelf.
  • If the temperature is too low and you can't make it warmer by adjusting the thermostat, you probably have a defective thermostat. If so, you need to replace it, because they cannot be repaired. Other possible problems are a leak in the sealed (refrigerant) system, cold air migration (in side-by-side models) or a defective air damper. These problems can be quite difficult to locate and correct, we recommend you contact a qualified appliance repair technician.
Let me know if this worked.

Thanks

You would have to get a technician to install the faulty part. As you said, it is your choice if you would want to invest in a 7 year old cooler.

Compressor seems bad

HI sally.well wine coolers r not rocket science.your local engineer should be able to at least diagnose the problem...lets c if u can do it ok?(still getting power )u mean light comes on or u mean it runs but dont get cold?well haier is not the best but if it's done 7 years is not bad:).ok...1-check if it makes any noise or is completely quiet.if no sound feel the motor (compressor).hot or cold.if cold it could be the thermostat or motor.if hot running or not it could be refrigerant or motor.needs visual.hope this helps.ALI

Wine temp on Haier wine cooler BC112G went to LL, opened up and some champagnes frozen, other wines very cold, condensation all over door, how do you fix this error?

The error is likely caused by a bad temperature sensor. The control board may still be Okay.
Replacing both of them is recommended.

Temp. is on automatic settings for "Red Wine" but fluctuate between 51-59 degrees, not to mention makes all sorts of noise (common refrig. noises) is this normal? Haier 35 bottle wine refrigerator

temps will fluctuate. depending on door openings and defrost cycles.no abnormal noises heard on the ones ive worked on but appliances tend to be noisier then they were. if less than a year old have an authiorized servicer go out and look at.

Haier Dual Zone Wine Chiller - One Fan wont run

I have the same problem. When I first discovered this, both fans had stopped working and the temp for both zones was over 80. So much for the wine that had been stored there. After leaving the unit unplugged for a few days, the fan for the lower section started working again but the upper fan is still overheating. Haier customer service says too bad, so sad (I discovered this problem in the 13th month of ownership). I'm sure it is not worthwhile to fix this so it is going out with the trash and I'll look for a different brand for the next wine cellar that I purchase. Any ideas?

Haier Wine Fridge problem

Hello bano24
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

You have a faulty cold control (temperature control)
The cold control is a temperature actuated switch and should open when the set temperature has been achieved. If the control does not open and turn the compressor off, it will continue to run and all items in the fresh food section will begin to freeze.
Check the control for continuity.
And or need a hands on service tech to diagnose this fault
