Question about Canon Cameras

I have a canon ixus 70. When I use the zoom facility the pictures become blurred. WHY

When I download all my stills and videos to my computer from my Canon Digital IXUS 70 camera, all the pictures are great and clear except the ones where I have used the zoom facility, for both single shots and the video movies.

I've reset the parameters to the factory settings in case I'd done something that I wasn't aware of, and I always press the TAKE button halfway until it's focussed, then I take the shot. I still get blurred photos when I use the zoom facility in still and video mode.

Is it a camera fault or am I doing something wrong?

    Please help

    Regards Conks1

Are you saying the LCD, after using the Zoom feature, that when the lens stops extending and you press the shutter button, the image is blurred? BTW: the camera model in the USA is a SD1000.

Believe it to be a camera fault. Reason: zoom feature makes the lens extend for telephoto work, therefore, the autofocus feature should be working at any distance you set the lens for and your shots should be clear. Could be an autofocus problem or the lens and CCD are misaligned at the telephoto position. Have the camera checked by a qualified repairperson. Get an estimate first. You may want to ask this question at the Canon website also.

I have ixus 950 IS. Plz tell me why the picture become hazy when I use zoom more than 4x though there is provision of zooing upto 16 x.

The optical zoom goes to 4x but then the camera shifts into digital zoom. Sounds like you need to increase your resolution (fewer pix/mem card or more megapixels per photo) in order to reduce the fuzziness. On the other hand, it could be a problem with you specific camera. If it is still under warranty, ask Canon if this is normal...it may be covered if it is a quality problem. Once you get into the digital zoom range, the quality of the pictures will decrease with any digital camera.

My camera is showing blurred pictures when taking pictures help

Try reseting all menus to default, then try again to test.
Make sure the lens is clean.
Do the menus appear clear?
Has the camera ever been dropped or had any other damage? This could get the lens out of focus, and would need repair.
Does blurring happen when zooming or when taking a picture of any kind?

I dropped my IXUS 70. Display screen has black section.

You have a bad CCD. The CCD is like film, it is what the light hits that actually convert an image to a picture. This is a repair as a rule that is more costly than what your camera may be worth.

Canon ixus 70

Is this on the camera that you want to do it or on photoshop? If on photoshop it only involves cropping the area you want and then enlarging the image size.
