It could either be the cartridges in the carrier or the sensor for the printer cover has gotten stuck. Please follow the steps below to determine and fix the issue:

  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Remove the cartridges from the carrier.
  3. Close the cover.
  4. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
  5. When the printer turns on, re-insert one cartridge first. Close the cover.
  6. Check for any error.
  7. If none, re-insert the other cartridge. Close the cover.
  8. Check for any error.
  9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear.
  10. If no error, try to print again.

Try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Open the printer cover > remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > re-brick you printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in, and re-plug after 10 seconds. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

If that doesn't help, the problem could be due to a clogged print cartridge nozzle. Please follow the steps below to fix print quality issues with your model:

  1. On your computer, go to Start menu.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark 1200 Series folder.
  4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.

From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through to clean the print cartridge nozzles.

After printing the test page, try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

My printed pages come out blank

Try to reseat your cartridges into the printer. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds. When the printer turns on, reinsert both cartridges. Try to print again to verify that the problem is fixed.
Long period of non-usage can result to drying of ink and clogging in the print nozzles. Try to clean the cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark software on your computer. Go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark X1200 Series folder > Lexmark Solution Center. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Try to print your document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
If this does not help, try to insert different known working cartridges or better yet brand new genuine Lexmark cartridges.

How do i install mt inks

Please follow the steps below on how to install/replace ink cartridges on your model:
  1. Make sure the All-In-One is on.
  2. Lift the scanner unit until the scanner support keeps it open. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the All-In-One is busy.
  3. Grasp the tabs on the cartridge lids, and then lift the lids.
  4. Remove the old cartridges. Store them in an air-tight container or dispose of them.
  5. If you are installing new cartridges, remove the stickers and transparent tape from the bottom of the cartridges.
  6. Insert the new cartridges. Make sure the black print cartridge is secure in the right carrier and the color cartridge is secure in the left carrier, and then snap the lids closed.
  7. Lift the scanner unit and push the scanner support back while lowering the scanner unit until it is completely closed.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

I just purchased a new black ink cartridge for my printer and it is not printer. The printer stop printing. I have a Lexmark X1270

Try to re-seat your cartridges into the printer.
  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Remove both cartridges from the printer.
  3. Close the printer cover.
  4. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
  5. When the printer turns on, re-insert your color cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
  6. If no error appears, open the printer cover and reinsert the black cartridge. Close the cover and check for errors.
  7. If error appears when black is inserted, try to insert a different known working cartridge (your old cartridge maybe) to determine if it's a faulty cartridge issue.
If you can make a copy using the Copy button on the printer operator panel without a problem, then it could be a communication problem between your printer and the computer. A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply reboot your pc and unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When everything is back on, try to print again.

My lexmark X1270 Printer is only printing in colour ......wont print in black

It could be that your black cartridge needs cleaning or is not properly seated in the carrier. Open the printer cover and reseat the black cartridge. Close the printer cover. Open Lexmark Solution Center on your computer. Go to Maintenance tab and select Clean to fix horizontal lines. Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the nozzles and clean them.

I installed a new black ink cartridge and my printer will not print. It will scan and save documents and I can select printer from the print menu but it will not print. Print jobs just stay in the queue

Can you print out a test page? if not send the cartridge back to the supplier as it is the cartridge, I was told Lexmark cartridges are brittle and you have to be careful.

Tell me more about it? I have had a LOT of these problems.

Also try putting the cartridge onto a damp cloth and see if that can open it up and another way to open the ink in to pop it into a cup of boiling water, when that is done you should see the ink coming out.

Hope it works

Lexmark x1270 not printing in color

Is the cartridge a Lexmark cartridge or a refilled cartridge?

Remove the cartridge from the printer, take a damp paper towell and wipe the cartridge in one direction on the bottom. Is Ink coming out? If yes then put the cartridge back in the printer and try to print again. If the answer is no and the cartridge is brand new you need to return it to you point of sale and get a new one as its a bad cartridge.

If the cartridge is a refilled cartridge that is probably the problem. Lexmark printers do not support refilled cartridges.

Thanks
