Is this a set sold in the USA? I have never heard of this brand. It sounds as if the back light is shutting off maybe the powe invertors feeding it are breaking down. Or your signal board is going on you. I hope you have aschematic and access to Goodmans parts?

TV screen goes blank but power stays on

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.

2 problems- 1-gasket is hanging loose on top of protection screen. 2- TV goes blank and I lose the picture and sound only on some channels at 9:00pm every night

unscrew the screws along the sides and top at back. gently lower screen forward and look inside--you should see the gasket--reattach it or remove it...I just removed it after staring at it for a year or more

You have no high voltage, like many in this forum, this model of Philips has some of the same problems. Look around here you may find the answer to your set. If not check Vertical IC, TDA8177, audio ic on signal board up front on left. check Power supply first for blown fuse, 1000, 2004, 1300, 1900 etc. No sound or pic means something is open. Does set has L E D lights on front of set?
