It does, and this is miscategorised.

The more files stored on your hard drive, the slower it'll work.

To speed it up, delete unused files, defragment your HDD and run a cleanup. I use Cleanup both at home and in work and find it excellent.

Does a system with a high processing speed downloads files faster then the normal ones.how far will it effect the downloading speed for a system running 2 ghz processor and a system running 4ghz processor...

Not really. The limiting factor is the size of the "pipe" that gives you the content.
This is your internet connection.

Now once you start to process those files, that is where the CPU speed comes in.

Memory cards

Normally 512MB is a good configuration of Ram to work with Windows Xp Sp2 but you have clean your temporary files frequently

Increasing RAM will not give you much speed difference because first you have study the Motherboard Bus speed and the cache memory - Actual speed increase from those things and the compatibilty.

Changing Ram you have to determine what type of ram and its bus speed whether its a SD Ram or DDR1 or 2 I hope now days SD ram cost more because its outdated and DDR1 is also bit costly than DDR2.

About virus disinfection

Yes it can but you have to know which files are virus files and which files are not. Since this is practically impossible to know each and every file, it is best to use an antivirus because it's been programmed with all the virus files already so you don't have to guess. That being said, look for files with seemingly random names and recent dates. When in doubt, you can google search a filename to determine if anyone has flagged it as a potentially unwanted program. This method is not 100% nor is it recommended; deleting the wrong file can cause your computer not to boot up.
