Question about Acomdata PHD060U2E-54 60 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive
I don't see a model number on this drive, but it is red. Really red. Anyway, I plugged it into my Dell Dimension 4500s using Windows XP and right off a little box at the bottom of the screen said that the new device was ready to rock, in so many words. The problem is, I don't see it anywhere when I go into My Computer. And I have no clue how to use it from this point. Thank you in advance for any help. And I have no idea what the model number is, but below it made me choose...so I picked the only one that said USB 2.0. It is really supposedly 130GBs and it's an external one at that.
You won't see a new drive in My Computer until it's initialised.
Right click on My Computer
Select Disk Management (in the left pane)
Scroll down in the bottom right pane until you see your drive.
If you right click on the drive, you should have an option to initialise it. Follow the process through until the end.
Apologies for getting a little vague towards the end, I haven't initialised a drive in a little while now.
Hope this helps!
