yea ive seen those drivers unfortunately my system is the 5100 series and i did not see that series noted in their model numbers.

about two weeks ago i was able to access the other site from canada but can't now.

as to your question as to what im looking for. I just reinstalled XP home and have a bare bones system. I don't have internet since Im on a wireless system - so need to download and then implement form one system to another . hope that helps.

so in a nut shell im looking for all the drivers - wireless, monitor, keypad, lan, etc.

  • dubai5110 Aug 23, 2008

i have the averatec 4200, it was used when i got it, most of the hardware works, but the wifi does not work, also the dvd burner does not work, i think all it needs is the drivers, i think someone re-installed windows with a restore disk from a different computer manufacture, so now i am searching for the drivers for this system, and averatec does not have **** for driver support for anything but there brand new systems... lame.

Hi again! Have you got the part number?

  • CS-Vicky Aug 24, 2008

Ugh, what a horrible website Trigem have.

Apparantly this series has an intel network/wireless chipset. I think
Intel have a driver identification program, perhaps you could try there?

We tend to use this program for driver idenification:
    http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utili...

It's called Everest, it's a little out of date but still pretty good. Run it, generate a HTML report and post it here. I'll see what I can do with it.

I have an Averatec 4100 and I would like to set it back to factory default settings. How do I do that?

You don't say if the system will still boot up, or if the Hard Drive is still intact or what happened that you want to restore to the factory settings.

If the hard drive is still OK, you may be able to restore the original software by pressing f4 repeatedly on a power up reboot, before the Windows system starts loading (a 3200 uses f4 on boot-up to access a hidden partition (D:?) on the hard drive which may contain the original system files and applications. The 4100 may not be the same.)

If you have modified the drivers, you may be able to restore the original drivers by going to "My Computer" icon on the desktop, and right clicking to open the "system devices" menu. There, you can open "properties" for any devices (hardware) that you may have changed, and try to restore to the previous driver.

If you need new (original) drivers, you may download them from:

http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp

The user manual for your system is available at:
http://www.retrevo.com/d/ds/progress?doc=620637ea9665f6ec226b353b2ed6df5e&rk=0.5734748288133472

Other options, such as a recovery CD is available for a small fee at:
http://www.user-guides.co.uk/cddownload/Averatec/Averatec4100/Averatec-4100-Data-Recovery-Boot-Disk-CD-For-Windows-98-548371.html (you have to follow the instructions to download a .iso image file, and burn it to a CD, which may be a challenge for you if you have not done that before).

If these options don't work, or you need help, provide some more information on what happened to your laptop and what is not factory any longer.

How can install the drivers for the wireless

You will need to download the drivers off the averatec 3200 website and then install them. I checked and its a .exe file which means it should be very simple. If you have no internet on the laptop you will need to download them to a flash drive or burn to cd via another computer.
