Question about Creative Labs ZEN SLEEK MP3 Player

1 Answer

Sync problem My Zen sleek has always taken several attempts to syncronize from my PC and will never manage a whole album in one go. I have now reorganised my PC library, genres etc and want to transfer all the tracks from the Zen to to PC library so I can organise it all, then delete off the Zen and transfer it back without duplicating lots of tracks. Using Sync manager it detects 830 tracks to syncronise, goes through the motions and then says 0 tracks transferred (errors detected). Can anyone help with this as I don't want to lose these 830 tracks but I do want an organised Zen!

My creative software for Zen Sleek Photo won't load on Vista

Vista by default will support the Zen Sleek Photo as an MTP device, which means that Windows Media Player will recognize it as well as Explorer.

You can use WMP to sync music to it, and Explorer to drag/drop photos to it.

Creative zen sleek photo not recognized by win xp

I got my Creative Zen Sleek Photo from a friend and everything I did wouldn't let Windows recognize it, but then I got it to work almost magically.

1. Make sure you have the proper drivers installed for it that come with the CD. If you don't have the CD, you can download the ISO here.
http://wp.randyr.net/windows-xp/creative-zen-sleek-photo.html

2. Reboot. When it comes back up, plug the cable into your computer, then into your Sleek. The software should sync up. For some reason, my Zen wasn't being recognized from the usb port on my computer tower, but I plugged it into my monitor's USB port and then it worked. Try that, if none of that works, then it may be a problem with your computer not knowing which driver to assign to your Zen, and if so, try the steps below.

----

1. Plug your Sleek to your computer.
2. Open up Windows' Device manager (right-click on "My Computer" and select "Properties". Go to the "Hardware" tab, then click "Device Manager").
3. Locate the entry for "Creative Zen Sleek" in your device list. It should appear either under "Sound, video, and game controllers" or under "USB Devices". Once you locate the entry, uninstall it.
4. Unplug your Sleek and wait a few seconds.
5. Plug your Sleek back in and allow the "new Hardware Wizard" to identify and install the drivers for it.

Album art

I honestly don't know much about how MediaMonkey works. Many people swear by it, but I've always been quite happy with how WMP11 manages things.

Anyways... The first thing you need to do is make sure that MediaMonkey can see your music library - the one you have stored on your computer somewhere (in many media managers, this is called folder monitoring). Next, go through your library, using MediaMonkey, and ensure all of your songs display with album art. Add appropriate images to any that are missing it.

Now, this is the important part: Once you are satisfied with the library setup with MediaMonkey, everything is tagged how you want it all, and so on -- boot your player into Recovery Mode, and run Disk Cleanup and then Reformat Disk. I know this sounds like a royal pain in the ass, but trust me hon - this is the only sure way to purge the player's database of all traces of whatever you were previously using to sync your media, so it will recognize and accept MediaMonkey's way of doing things! Once you've done all that, restart your player, set everything back up (including a name), then plug it in and sync it with MediaMonkey. When it's all done syncing, you should have album art displaying now!

Keep us posted, and good luck!

Zen sleek frozen after trying to delete songs

Why does technology make you work for what you already paid good money for? Have you tried going into Recovery Mode? You do this by holding down the Play/Pause button while triggering the Reset button. Once there, you have four options. Try selecting Disk Cleanup and then Reboot. You might need to re-Sync a few things but it's worth a shot. Good luck.
