I am sending you all the possibilities for your problem, check either of these causes ----and than let me know if it is solved----

Power from the house
Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element
Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring
A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

Dryer will not stop running

Your machine may have a feature called wrinkle guard or wrinkle shield, which basically keeps tumbling the clothes without heat to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Turn that feature off and see if that does the trick.

Dryer not heating up

Firstly, Check the vent outlet. This vent outlet would enable the heated air to escape outside. It may be blocked due to accumulation of lint.
A Vacuum cleaner may come in handy while doing this.
You're probably going to need a multimeter to diagnose any further... Check to make sure you have proper voltage with the voltage portion of your multimeter and make sure there are no blown fuses. Now switch the multimeter to resistance (or ohms) to check the heating element to make sure there is is resistance(as long as it doesn't say OL or overload there is resistance)

Roper dryer model res7648kq0. wont turn on or heat ?

On the back side of the dryer sits the heater and various safety clixons. Any of them that would be OPEN ( no continuity) would be the problem. Here are some repair pictures

Oasis HE dryer- runs down to "7" and then continously runs

Have you checked the vent duct, all the way to the outside of the house, to make sure you get a strong blast of air at the discharge? I've seen lint build up in the louver enough to limit air flow, and depending on how it is sitting, you can not always see the lint unless the dryer is runnig.

And, if you look up inside the drum, you'll see a grate area where the heated air comes from the burner. That grate should be clear of lint. If not, you'll need to access it from the backside and collect all the loose lint.

Also, make sure the vent hose doesn't crimp when you push the dryer back to the wall.

It might be that you have a bad over temp thermostat, but I would expect that to reset in a period of time. It would extended the dry cycle, but it doesn't explain the timer stopping. And last but not least, it could be the timer, but if I remember correctly, you said nudging the timer doesn't make the burner come back on.

Let me know what you find. I'm curious to help you fix this.

Drum runs continuously

Sounds like you have a shorted relay in the door switch. If you know a good electrician or repair man I'd give them a call.
