Simple. get the board over to a friend. Be careful with this step now..

loosen the bios on the friend's motherboard so that it just touches the contacts and once it boots into a dos mode swap it with your bios and flash the correct one. remember to be very very careful about how you insert the bios chip.
it works as i have done it for my old k8v-vm ultra

How to recover from BAD UPDATE flash bios on MSI H61M-P21 B(3)

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/H61M-P21--B3-.html#/?div=Overview

Something has gone wrong trough the update.

The bios update file on the usb disk could, have been damaged.

You need to contact a MSI dealer, they can help you with the problem.
You will probably need to bring the usb disk also.
Here should be a restore file, to make the mainboard running again.

Good luck

Gateway 5300S Desktop PC - need original BIOS

Hello you can try one of the bios file from here as it is a INTEL mainboard:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+915+Express+Chipset+Family+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+D915GAG

Try one of the preversions. Your current bios file could be damaged.
Download the exe file so you can update the bios while the system is running.Don`t use unautorized programs to upgrade the bios it could go very wrong.

I could not find the original bios file.
Have you entered a wrong model ?

Here is the gateway support site:

http://support.gateway.com/product/?cmpid=supportnav

If you find the model here please unzip the file before you go any further.
And be 100% sure its the right model.

Hope this will help you

M955g v: 3.0a Bios changes time and date back

It looks like you have the latest BIOS, but I would flash it again, evidently something went wrong, if flashing with v3.0 doesn't work, go to the ver before and re-flash.

I hope this helps.

Failed bios recovery on ASUS P5S800-VM using support cd

Hi there.

If you look on any support/bios update forum/website, you will find that flashing the bios is very risky. The reason it's risky is because of what you just described.

While flashing the bios, the bios chip memory is deleted and then the new bios is written. If you lose power, system crashes, or anything that interrupts the flashing process, the chip is rendered useless.

The computer turned off while flashing, and the reason there is no screen is because there is no bios to load. There is no way to reverse this or repair it.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and are confident with electronic components, you may be able to pick up another bios chip on the internet, but you will have to solder it to the board yourself.

Otherwise it's a new motherboard.

Sorry it wasn't good news

I put 1gb memory stick first slot no boot up

the bios may not support the bus speed of the ram or they maybe some dirt on the brass contacts, clean these with a standard eraser, make sure its pushed into the dimm slot properly ( you'll hear 1 or 2 clip sounds ) check your motherboard manual to see if it supports the bus speed, if it does put your old ram back in boot windows and flash the bios ( download bios update from motherboard manufacurer's support website ), if you have no ram you have get some and flash through windows, you can also flash the bios via floppy ( THE "FLOPPY" METHOD IS NOT RECOMENDED ) if it goes wrong you'll kill the motherboard

good luck

Updated bios

Can you still access the bios setup page? It could be a flash gone wrong. Flashing could have failed, or wrong flash, or other reason. You can try flashing again, but tell me step by step how the problem goes.

Tons of problems

Hi freak761, it sounds like the bios was corrupted. Contact ECS through their online technical support, click on this link; http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Support/TSSRequest.aspx?CategoryID=1&MenuID=19&LanID=0
Fill out the required information. Request a new "updated" bios for your board. Most manufactures charge $5.00 US for a new bios. ECS's web site for the P4M900T-M2 V1.0

With respect to your Hisun pen drive. Many people claim the total size of their pendrive may be fake.
There is a suggested test program that might help. Run, Bart's Stuff Test 5 Version 5.1.4 to help check your pendrive. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Bart%27s+Stuff+Test+5&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=

In windows XP you can also use windows disk manager. Open windows run window & type in diskmgmt.msc than click ok. Format the partition of the pendrive through disk manager.

Good luck!

Bios update

make sure your bios is an eprom. people download bios upgrades only to find their bios is not a flash bios. that is it doesn't have the infrared source to physically "flash" the chip.
