That motherboard and videa card connect using the AGP standard so you are quite limited to what video cards you can get without upgrading the entire system. Also, since your system is that old getting a modern graphics card will not help much as the processor (CPU) will limit it greatly.

nVidia has not released an AGP card in a few generations but they did have some back with the 7600 AGP. ATI released an AGP version of it's last generation of cards with the HD3850.

I personally think you are wasting your money and should consider upgrading your entire system if you are planning an playing any games. I would suggest getting the cheapest AGP video card you can find say a GeForce 6200 or Radeon X1550. Don't spend more than $50 or $60.

Remember that it must be AGP to fit on your motherboard. Another thing to consider is that any AGP video card you buy for you current system will not work in any new computer.

Unless you are using a high end motherboard with the latest chipset, you will find it very difficult to get an "onboard" graphics chip to output that resolution. And your motherboard just doesn't have the power to display at that resolution. You will need to find a graphics card that will display that kind of resolution. The Nvidia GTX 650 or the Radeaon 7750 are both capable of handling that display and are cheap (in terms of graphics cards anyway).

Upgrading graphics quality on my pc.

There is a large range of graphics card on the market in both performance and prices to match.
The graphic card that suits your requirements depands upon what you want in terms of performance and the application that requires a particular level of graphic capability.
Check the software documentation or games program for the graphic card that is required to run with their program. Generally games programs that require photo realistic rendering require high end graphics cards.
You may select a graphic card that is a bit above your current requirements to cover for future requirements.
I suggest you Google search the Internet or go to your computer shop to see what is available that meets your requirements. You can spend a lot of money on a very high end graphics card when a lessor graphics card would still suit your requirements and not burn a hole in your pocket.

What memory stick and graphic cards to get

Your motherboard has 3 PCI slots. Any card you install can only be a regular PCI card.

The RAM in your motherboard has to be DDR (333 or 400) 184 pin DIMM's.

Here is a link for your motherboard manual:

Asus P5P800-MX Manual

Layout pic is on page 1-7. Info on your memory is on page 1-15.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Which latest Graphic card can be supported by my Asrock P4i45GV?

Hi

Any video card that supports AGP x8 Should work on this motherboard.

For example Nvidia 7800 GS AGP or 7600 GS AGP should work fine.

But a better investment would be to upgrade the motherboard to a PCI-E supporting board and possibly AMD Dual or Triple / quad core processor the ram is very cheap for DDR2 these days.

Upgrade would be best in long run.

Compatible video cards

This motherboard has an 8x AGP slot. So any 8X AGP graphic cards will suit this mobo. As your local reseller for any 8x AGP based graphic cards from ATI or Nvidia.
