Question about LG LFC25760 French Door Refrigerator

Ice maker on a LG LRFC25750ST

It took me a year to get around to hooking up the water line and now the ice maker will not go on. It worked when I bought the refrigerator, but now it does not. Also There is red and blue wires leading to the water valve. Which one goes to the left and which to the right? Not that it matters since the ice maker seems to have no power.

You were correct. The thermal fuse was blown. I checked with my meter and had no power. Replaced fuse and now everything is working well. Thank you.

check the wires are connected to the right place
It may be that there is no power in the wires so id suggest you get a tester and make sure wires are carrying power to the ice maker

It really doesnt matter which wire goes to the left or right
As long as both wires are connected, then thats tops

if the water is turned on you probably have a bad valve take the line off of the valve
at the back of the refrigerator see if you have water if you do its the valve

My LG refrigerator has the ice maker hooked up to the hot water heater, is this right. MY HOT WATER HEATER HAS SLUDGE IN IT THAT IS GOING INTO THE ICE MAKER AND MAKING FOUL SMELLING AND TASTING ICE. ...

Having ice maker hooked up to hot water side is common practice...because the water is heated before it gets to be sent to the ice maker, it would have less air in the ice...kinda like a crude way to distill the water.

The sludge is from mineral deposits in your water...sometimes called hard water.

One of the best investments in areas of hard water is a water softener system, in-line water filters, or a combination of both.

Ya might look to see if there is a filter in the refrigerator to filter water before it gets to the ice maker as well.

Hope this helps...

Maytag model MSD2756GE ice maker. Water not getting to ice maker.

Why was there a need to increase the freezer temperature? Are you having temperature problems as well? If so, your ice maker has a built-in thermostat that, unless and until it is satisfied, will not cycle, thereby, making no ice. If temperature seems ok, and the buzzing is only occasional, then that buzzing is most likely the solenoid valve being energized but not passing water. This is a dual solenoid valve (one supplies the ice maker and the other supplies the dispenser) located at the bottom rear of the refrigerator.

Ice maker problems

I have seen alot more module problems on that unit then valve problems but i have seen some valve coils go out. First turn the ice maker off for an hour or so then move the arm back down. If it goes around and doesn't fill with water with the valve all hooked back up properly then your looking at a valve. If the ice maker doesn't go all the way around or doesn't start at all pull the white front cover off, it just snaps on, and see if a little white plastic peice falls out or if you can just pull the big round gear off. There is power behind the gear put the cover back on don't change it with unit plugged in.

We have the same problem with the ice cube tray. Repairman said the tray must be replaced every year as continual bending warps it out of shape. Replace every year and your problem is solved.

Ice maker freezed up and freezer not keeping items freezed up

Your automatic defrost system is not working which is the indication of the frost on the back wall. When the freezer does not come down to temperature it also affects the ice maker. This kind of problem is from a bad timer, defrost heaters or defrost thermostat. I do not think you want to tackle this problem yourself. Call a service man from an appliance store that handles your product and give him the same information you gave here with the exception of the removal of the frost on the back wall.
