Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

You mentioned this problem on the Mitsubishi 65 inch, model # WS-65857: "The model you have selected should have a self check feature: when turns off and the green power light goes off: ON THE FRONT OF THE SET PRESS AND HOLD BOTH MENU AND INPUT together for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons. The power light should blink a two digit error code: for example: 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks--it will repeat the code about 10 times. error codes for this set: 1, then 2 no error detected 2, then 1 X-ray protection 2, then 2 short protection 2, then 3 deflection circuit problem 2, then 4 vertical deflection problem 2, then 2 is the most common and easiest to fix. Let me know what you find and if 2,2 I have detailed instructions for repairing that kind of trouble" I get the 2, then 2 code and was wondering if you still have the detailed instructions that you could send to me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Steve Rivera

The model indicated uses two of the STK-392-570 Convergence chips; both will have to be replaced and on same board one of two pico fuses is blown.

You can get photos, the instructions etc one of two ways: either provide an email address or contact Lauren@fixya.com and she will help.

Against rules here for me to ask for email address.

I can tell you best place for parts and instructions are very detailed.

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65857 with a blue/red convergence problem. Can anyone give me some advice on parts, where to get them and how to make the repairs? Thanks

The Convergence ICs and pico fuses need replacement. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model from www.tvrepairworld.com the kits contains the parts and the CD with instructions

yheshospot,

You have a bad convergence circuit. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4220499-change_projection_tv_convergence_ics which explains how to correct the problem and where to get the parts at the best price.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

My tv turns on and then turns off about 3 seconds later. Is there a reset?

The model you have selected should have a self check feature: when turns off and the green power light goes off:

ON THE FRONT OF THE SET PRESS AND HOLD BOTH MENU AND INPUT together for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

The power light should blink a two digit error code: for example: 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks--it will repeat the code about 10 times.

error codes for this set:

1, then 2 no error detected
2, then 1 X-ray protection
2, then 2 short protection
2, then 3 deflection circuit problem
2, then 4 vertical deflection problem

2, then 2 is the most common and easiest to fix.

Let me know what you find and if 2,2 I have detailed instructions for repairing that kind of trouble.

I am here to help people.

Mitsubishi WS 65857 Picture problem.

Mitsubishi's have been known to "burn in" when you have a stationary image on the screen for too long. Usually its not a problem but in some cases I've seen..if its hours and hours of game play..or even places like home shopping network that have phone numbers that never move during the broadcast...it can cause the image to burn the screen.

The projection tubes would not be burned...it would be the mirror viewing screen.
