Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Kodak 5500 will not turn off and spools sheets

Thanks for your info. I called Kodak, 1-800-421-6699. They talked me through checking out the Kodak 5500 AIO printer. Determined it was the print head. Sent, next day new print head and ink cartridges Free. Still had problems with no demo sheet and spooling. I called again. A New guy got the key direction. With the machine on press "copy" and "delete" at the same time and hold for at least 3 seconds. Go to calibrate from there and print out demo sheet. It worked fine. I'm very impressed with Kodak's Customer Support. Instant connection. None of this "wait all operators are busy nonsense." Very professional. I have never had such excellent support from any supplier and will definite buy Kodak printers and products again. I will also recommend them to members of my computer club and friends.

Thanks for your help but sometimes, if you can get ahold of a responsive manufacturer, it is the best route to go. Pulling jamed paper out the front, according to the techi I spoke to is not a problem with this machine. Major memory functions are in the print head. No pins to bend.

No need to respond. Problem gone and so am I.

    I am having problems with the black ink , I installed two brand new black ink carthridges thinking they were damaged or something still no black printing , I called the support number and deleted and downloaded printer still same problem I guess I will be calling support again tomorrow. Jackie

If you hold down the Photo and Copy button a Demosheet will print - Does that sheet look correct? If so then I would suggest you reinstall the Software from the web as you will get the latest version - Site:

Easyshare 5500 prints very light even after cartridge replaced

You'll need to call KODAK to get a new printhead. The # is 1.800.421.6699. This is a very common issue, and they will give you a new printhead and a set of new ink.

Please call 1.800.421.6699 and select option 01 for prints missing black or color ink. Kodak will send you a replacement printhead kit for free. I hope this helps.

New printhead installed, still no ink for 5300 flowing

Try pressing copy and cancel at ocnce. Or, call 1.800.421.6699 for kodak.

Kodak printer not printing correct colors


Your experience seems to be related to the print head? It may just need a cleaning. Check your instruction book or go to the following link to review the instructions on how to do a cleaning.

Will not turn off, will not print text, poor quality pictures

well..this is not a happy circumstance. I must report that when the paper is pulled through from the front, it can damage some innards, which I suspect is the case here.

sounds like it's a candidate for a factory service gig.

My kodak easyshare5300 is printing black picture


If your product is still within the warranty period from KOdak then you can call them up for some step by step troubleshooting to help you with your problem and as well they can replace the printer if defective.

Try this first

Calibrate your printer, then print a demo sheet.
  1. If paper is in the photo paper tray, remove it.
  2. Load photo paper into the photo tray.
    1. Fan the paper to keep the sheets from sticking together. IMPORTANT: Do not overload the photo tray.
    2. Load a maximum of 20 sheets into the photo tray, with the Kodak logo facing up.
    3. Engage the photo tray by pushing it in until it stops. p289_0006aa.jpg
  3. Calibrate your printer.
    1. Press Menu.
    2. Select Calibrate Printer, then press Start.
    3. Wait for your printer to print the calibration sheet.
    4. Place the calibration sheet face down on the scanner glass.
      • For the 5300 AiO printer, place the sheet on the front right corner of the scanner glass.
      • For the 5500 AiO printer, place the sheet on the left rear corner of the scanner glass.
    5. Press Start.
    6. Wait until "Calibration complete. Remove calibration page from scanner glass. Press OK to continue." appears on the LCD display.
    7. Remove the calibration sheet from the scanner glass, then press OK.
  4. Print a demo sheet.
    1. Disengage the photo tray by sliding it towards you until it stops. When the photo tray is disengaged, the main tray is active.
    2. Select Print Demo Page, then press Start.
    3. Wait for the demo sheet to print.
