I get a f50 fault code on a model 110.2704. kenmore. I checked the basket and it moves freely. I unplugged the motor lead and got a f51 code that was expected. What next?

What washer do you have? The F51 code is a failure of the RPS sensor at the bottom of the motor on the Kenmore Oasis or Whirlpool Cabrio.

This can occur if you overload the washer or if there are foreign objects under the washer that prevent the motor from turning.

If you set the water level for a small load but put in a large amount of laundry, you can get the error. If the drain hose is incorrectly positioned in the drain, the fill water can get siphoned and cause the error. Make sure that the basket turns freely when you lift the lid. Items stuck between the baskets or a problem with the basket hub can also cause the error.

If the unit isn't overloaded and the basket and motor move freely, you need to find where the circuit is failing. You need to measure the resistance on the cables to the control board from several sensors and the motor itself. These tests will lead you to the parts that need to be replaced.
