Epson R310 Non Epson Cartridge Warning

Hi ,Madbin ,
Thanks for your help re the White Space Locking.
I have another Problem...
Since I have been using Refillable Cartridges , and the Bulk ink.
Every time I Print something I get the Epson Warning .
"The installed Ink Cartridges differ from the Original do you want to continue using them"
-------------

Before changing to the Refillable Cartridges, I used Generic Cartridges...
and I only ever got the Warning when I First replaced the Cartridge,

Now I get it every time I want to Print something,
I cannot Line up 2 or 3 Print Jobs , without being there to Cancel the Warning .

It comes up every time.
I have an Epson Stylus Photo R310
The Cartridges have an Auto Rest Chip in them,.... I wouldn't mind if it only came up when the Chip Reset.... but every time I print something , I can't just Click Print and Leave ... I have to wait for the POPUP.
Have you any Suggestion how to prevent this Popup

I Don't get it when the Print is Directed straight to the Printer,

I have removed all the Warning options Via
*Maintenance.
*Speed and Progress.
*Monitoring Preferences.
*Select Notifications.

Thank you Ron

    Hi MadBindus,
Thank you for assistance, I will give them a Try,
I was able to print without the Popup, when I printed straight to the Printer, but then it would Lock the Program I was printing from . and Once I fixed that it went Back to the Popup warning ,... It is a real Pain,
I am at a bit of a loss, to see why generic Cartridges without the Auto Reset , only caused the Warning on replacement.. I have been thinking of Replacing the Auto Reset Chips on the Refillable Cartridges with the original Epson Chips and use the Chip Reseter when I refill them each time.

The only trouble with that is,... that Chip reads empty after a certain amount of Head Shots not when the Cartridge is empty,

So if I refill with 18 ml ( say 6000 shots ) of Ink and the genuine Cartridge only usually has 10 ml (say 3300 shots) I would be getting Cartridge Empty , with still nearly ½ a Cartridge of ink still in it .

I will email them and see what they have to say

    Thanks again...... Ron.

Essentially Epson should release drivers to resolve this issue. I am not sure there is a exact fix but according to recent US law paased within the last year or so, it is illegal for them to program this into there software. Call the customer relations or email them at

Epson xp-405 wont print black very good

No, It could be that the copper/metallic plate that interfaces with the cartridge and/or the carriage could be dirty. Remember that the ink is heated to produce the steam which is necessary to push the ink out of the cartridge. That spray doesn't just go down. It atomizes the ink so it sprays everywhere. You may need to clean those contacts with 91-99% Isopropyl Alcohol and use a coffee filter. The white filters are cheap, lint-free, and durable. Please turn off the printer and unplug it before you use any liquids on the contacts!!!

Epson r310 Why is the black not printing when the other 5 do?

If you haven't tried a new ink cartridge, try that first. Try the cleaning utility in the tools area. After that, it gets complex and costly.

Don't know exactly where to drill a hole to refill Epsom T0711 printer ink cartridge. Can you help?

Hi,

Thanks for using Fixya.
You won't need to drill hole anywhere.
Visit this link to get all the instructions required to refill the ink in Epson T0711 cartridge.
But remember you would need a chip resetter gun to re set the chips on the ink cartridges after you refill the cartridges.
Visit this link to buy Universal chip reseter if you don' t have.

Good luck and have a nice day.

Does not reconize non epson ink cartridge. I remove and reinstalled and it printed but now its back to not reconize cartridge.

You did not say if you were using "New-Epson Ink Cartridges", or actually using "Non-Epson Ink Cartridges" [Generic or Third-Party ink cartridges] in your printer. I'm assuming that you are probably using Non-Epson Ink Cartridges, because those are what normally cause that problem, with a printer not recognizing an installed ink cartridge. Unfortunatly, there is no way to make your Epson Printer use or accept that Non-Epson Ink Cartridge, if it cannot actually recognize it. Its even possible that some Generic or Third-Party brands, may not always be recognized by the newer models of Epson Printers, because of the inexpensive [cheap] and or incompatable Electrical Chips that are mounted on the actual ink cartridge. Sometimes you will even get Error Messages up on your Monitors screen, telling you that you are actually using a Non-Epson Ink Cartridge, or that your printer cannot recognize the cartridge that you installed. Sometimes the Ink Level Indicator, on your Status Monitor, will not show an actual ink level, but may indicate a cartridge error or problem instead. Not all Generic or Third-Party ink & ink cartridges are made the same and none of them actually contain the right formulation of ink, for the Epson Printers [formula is patented by Epson Company]. Some are probably close and seem to be better than others, but some simply can clog-up or even damage the Printhead Assemblies on Epson Printers, or simply won't be accepted at all. Epson Ink Jet Printers are one of the few printers on the market that seem to have so many problems with non-manufactors inks, especially the newer models made in the last couple of years. Its because the Epson Printers use a completely different printhead inking system than most other brands of printers. Most, if not all of the other manufactors, use thermal or bubble jetprint heads and because the other brands use a totally different system, they don't seem to have as many problems using refilled inks or non-manufactor's ink cartridges. Printer manufacters do not make available their ink formulation and in most cases, the formulation is patented. Any difference in the ink formulation can actually cause clogging in the small printhead nozzles or damage other critical components. One individual printhead nozzle is so tiny, that it will not accept a human hair, so you can see why they can get clogged so easily, or even why the nozzles can be so easily damaged...Even if you were actually using a New-Epson Ink Cartridge, its always possible that you got a bad cartridge. At this point, the only thing I can suggest is that you try a different New-Epson Ink Cartridge, or at the very least, a different brand of Non-Epson Ink Cartridges and see if that helps...Good Luck!

Turn off the printer, gently push the ink carriage all the way to the right side (LCD and buttons side) by hand. Turn on the printer and mine was back to normal. Hope that works for you all. Cheers, Bizytrading.

Printing in black & white when color cartridge ran out

One of the possible reason why you can't print black in white because Epson ink jet printers require all of the ink cartridges to have ink in them in order to print any color, black and white, or grayscale images. More than that Epson printers contain a permanent print head that needs to be charged with all colors to work. Even when users are printing black text only, a small amount of color ink is used to keep the print head charged for color printing and prevent air bubbles from entering the color print nozzles which can damage the print head.

Highly possible that the "compatable" cartridges are not really compatable or that Epson has updated software or firmware to keep them from working. Try replacing with Epson cartridges or see if the non-OEM brand seller has a resetting device so the printer sees those cartridges as full.
