Re: SATA HD not reconized when install winxp
If you have already enabled it in the bios this means that the drive may not be formatted yet. So what you do is you go to the control panel then to administrative tools then go computer management. After that click on disk management. Then format the appropriate drive. Make sure its not your main drive you are formatting. Also make sure that the drive letter assignment is set to a different one as your main drive.

No drivers are needed - it should have been seen right away. Check the BIOS to see the drive is seen in the drives tables, and if there, XP needs to have the drive setup using FDISK. The drive will not show under windows until a drive table is on it.
You need to insert "DriiverPacks" into a Windows CD copied to hard drive using "Nlite" http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/ go to the above site for them you need "Driverpack MassStorage" I did it just follow instructions
If the SATA drive is operating in 3.0 Gbps mode and your motherboard can only support 1.5 Gbps mode, the drive will not be detected in BIOS or XP. Try jumpering the drive to SATA 1.5 Gbps mode. The label on your hard drive should indicate which pins should be shorted to achieve this setting; if not, look up your particular model on WD's website to find the manual.
