Question about Fujitsu LifeBook T4210 Tablet PC

Missing key from keyboard

Hi folks - I stupidly lent my tablet to a friend and it came back missing the number "4" key from the keyboard. I found a site online that sells cannibalized keys from Fujitsu laptops but my T4210 tablet isn't listed as a compatible model for any of them, although several look like they have the same keys and seem to have the same hinges and mount. I've written Fujitsu but don't get any replies. Can anybody help me please?
Thank you.

Thanks a lot for the help. I actually have looked there and while some seem to look the same, my model isn't listed. I've written to them as well but haven't received a response yet.

Unfortunately the warranty has expired a while ago and it really ticks me off that they won't respond, even when asked if the new version's keys are compatible. I like your idea though, if for no other reason than to just get some satisfaction from this whole mess. I really never expected anything like this to be so difficult. Maybe it wasn't a very popular model?

Also, it wasn't because of this but we aren't friends anymore!

I suggest trying eBay. You can find almost anything you need there and it's possible the key that you are looking for will be there. Is your tablet still within the warranty period? If so, contact them for a replacement. If they give you garbage about it, tell them you will report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General for the state that you live in. Also let them know that you will post in every forum you can find on the Internet about how crappy their customer service is. Since they don't want that to happen, they most likely will cough up the key. And don't let your friend use your tablet anymore!

This makes me feel really stupid, but here goes....i have a HP tc4400 with windows.....i cant seem to find the "start" menu like on my dell....where is it? It is about the only way I can possibly...

The start menu is activated by clicking a globe (sphere) at the bottom of the screen on the left side. The globe contains the 4 Windows colors. If for some reason you cannot find it, you can still press the Windows key located between the ALT and the Fn key, on the left of the keyboard.

Need to disassemble

to remove the keyboard on the cf-18 keyboard you must remove the 4 screwsby the ESC, F4, F10, and PAUSE key. once removed lift the 2 covers and holding the keyboard from Function key sides lift up slowly. There are 4 sticky tapes holding the keyboard, once some of the tapes are off you can slide the keyboard up towards the LCD to remove. The connector to the keyboard can be removed by removing 3 screws from the aluminum center cover found under the keyboard

Because starcraft plays that much better when you can move around with the Dpad instead of having to edge screen with the pen.
