Card for above camera

Hi, I just received a Konica Minolta Dimage 7 camera that I purchased on ebay. It has only a 16mb compact flash card that it came with. Could you tell me what type of flash card works in this camera, type 1 or 2? Also, is there a specific brand that works best, can I use a bigger card than 1 gb or does the camera only store up to 1 gb on each card? Thanks

His translations from the French are, in English: Control Panel (configuration panel)>Administrative Tools (administrator utility)>Computer Management (computer utility )> Disk Management (disk utility) in Storage (stockage). I. e., Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Storage>Disk Management.

Mille merci, dwafellman. Vouz m’avez sauvé un voyage á Office Depot pour retourner mon mémoire Flash.

I just purchased a Minolta Dimage 7 camera from craigslist. I went to Best Buy to buy a cf card. The assistant at the store said the only place to get a cf card that works with my camera is online at Amazon.com They said the cf cards that they sold at best buy was like putting the wrong oil in a motor. I purchased 2 Kingston cf cards from Amazon.com and they work great. They are 4gb cards.

Hello,
I bought for my dimage 7 a modern CF card of 4 gb. But my camera doesn't recognise this card.
I have read blogs on the web, and i've found the solution.
If I format the card in FAT in my computer, it works in my camera, but if y try again to format in the camera, it doesn't works again and I must reformat in the computer.
If I compare the number of pictures I can take with my cf 512mb (tiff), it is increase of 8 by my new cf card. So it seams that all my card (4GB)is available
How to format a 4gb card by windows in fat? Windows format cards above 2GB in fat32!
You must go in "configuration panel - administrator utility - computer utility- disk utility in stockage"
Find the cf card to format and you may choose to format in Fat and choose default.
I'm sorry but I have a french version of Windows and I dont know the english terms used.
I hope I have helped you because the dimage 7 is realy a wonderfull camera.

What is the biggest size memory card for my Dimage A1 Minolta Camera?

An older camera, the DiMage A1 came with a 16mb card. Some cameras are picky about which cards work best. Compact Flash cards are sold in different speeds and your camera may work faster with a faster card. This camera can use Compact Flash type I or type II, and is compatible with the microdrive card. Since this camera was introduced the capacities of Compact Flash cards have increased dramatically so I believe you should be able to use a larger card with no problems but I would check out some of the online photography sites to read about other's experiences. Here is one good resource:

Hope this helps!

I just pruchased a Konica Minolta Dimage 7i camera. it has no memory flash card. It appears to take a rather large one. What is the proper card and where can I get one?

It uses Compact Flash (CF) cards, which you should be able to buy at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store.

You can download the manual at

Z3 will not accept a 2g card

The Dimage Z3 accept SD cards up to 1GB (Minolta says 512 Mb, and sold it with 16Mb). This camera is 4MP , and uses less memory on card, therefore a 512MB card will be enough for it.

SanDisk Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory ...

from $13 - 20 stores

PNY Flash memory card - 512 MB SD Memory Card ...

from $3 - 2 stores

SanDisk SD Industrial Flash memory card - 512 ... from $14

Here 1 Gb, try at your risk, but they normally work:

Memory card

Its an sd card right?
because if its a bigger square Compact Flash Card you could a bent pin.
I wouldnt buy another car if you have a new one and they both give the same error.
I would suggest takeing it to a repair person if there is one near where you live. I would have to see the camera myself to be able to know for sure what was wrong.
But If you can afford to then I would really suggest getting a new one before your next trip. As even if My quick fix worked or if it started working again It could start failing again in the middle of the trip.

Have you tried formatting the card?

"No Card" warning appears on the monitor when the IBM Microdrive is loaded.

Please wait for a moment until the warning message disappears and the Access lamp extinguishes. The normal operation will resume soon. The start-up time of the IBM Microdrive, until it becomes readable by DiMAGE 7, takes longer than Compact Flash. In the meantime the camera may not detect card existence.
