I want to install my laser shot lbp-1120 printer on windows 7 x64 but I don't find my drive in internet can you help me please?

Unfortunately, Canon does not seem to support the 64-bit OS versions. The only workaround if you want to keep using the LBP-1120 is to use another computer with an older OS. This could be a physical second computer, a dual-boot machine or a virtual computer.

If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install the XP software from: http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000524.asp in the virtual computer as if it were the only machine. It will work. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) All of the other options will require a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Please note that the virtual computer can't share files directly with the main computer. You'll need to save files to external or removable media (optical media or flash drive, for example) to share them.

I hope this helps.

My lexmark printer is not printing from the computer. i have windows 7 on my computer . could it be that it is not compatible with windows 7?

You are correct this printer is not supported under Windows 7. There are workarounds that may work if you want to try them.

First option is the compatibility mode. To try this, download the driver for an older OS version from the Lexmark site, http://support.lexmark.com/index?locale=EN&page=product&userlocale=EN_US&productCode=LEXMARK_X125&focusedTab=DOWNLOADS#1 , and right click on the installer. Then choose Properties and then the Compatibility tab. Turn on Run program as Compatible with the appropriate OS. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. Then check if the program itself is running in the compatibility mode by right clicking again and choosing Properties. This is more likely to work if you have Windows 7 32-bit. I do not know if this will work for your specific printer.

A method that will work is to use a computer (virtual, dual-boot, or true second machine) with an older version of Windows installed. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install the XP software from the above site in the virtual computer and it will work.

Canon ip 4500

This is the proceedure for older Canon printers, It may work for you.

Turn off the printer.

Press and hold the RESUME button, then press and hold the POWER button.

Release the RESUME button, then press and release the RESUME button two more times in succession. (youre still holding the POWER button during this). The printer mechanics will move momentarily.

You are now in Service mode.

Pressing the RESUME key will select a function; for example, pressing RESUME 4 times will select the clear waste ink counter function. The lamp will alternate color with each key press.

1. service/factory test printout, including ink sensor check
2. EEPROM info printout
3. EEPROM initialization
4. Clear the waste-ink counter
5. Printer model setting. (more selections beyond this- leave this alone)

After selecting mode, press the POWER button to commit the change, and return to the top of the function selection menu. Pressing the POWER button again turns off the printer for a restart. Just to be sure, unplug the printer power cord.

Plug the power back in and turn the printer on.

My Windows Vista SP1 isn't compatible with my Canon PIXMA MP600

You can download the vista drivers here. Under drivers and support then choose your operating system. Make sure to select the correct Vista for your system they have vista and vista 64. You can find which you are running by right clicking on my computer and choosing properties. It is likely normal Vista (Vista 32).

Canon MF5550 printer driver for Windows Vista

I just found this solution TODAY! After trying for a whole year to fix this thing... It was right at my face the whole time!!!!

1) Uninstall your old Canon MF5550 driver.
2) Reboot your computer
3) Download the Canon MF5550 driver Windows XP version.
4) Open your Vista Control Panel, then click on PROGRAMS (not on Uninstall or something else...)
5) bellow "Programs & Features", click on "use an older program with this version of Windows". Follow the wizard.
6) Locate the program manually. (If you need to search the folder where you downloaded your Canon driver, just go to search file on C. It will probably download on your desktop or Downloads)
7) Open the MF5550 Folder where you downloaded the driver, and click on the setup.exe file.
8) Choose on the next screen Windows XP
9) If you need to change the display settings, go ahead. But I didn't change anything. I just clicked NEXT.
10) Fill in the box: RUN THIS PROGRAM AS AN ADMINISTRATOR and click NEXT.
11) Click Next again and let Windows Vista do its job.
12) If it worked... just click yes and finish. If it didn't, click NO and run it again.

I AM SO HAPPY THIS THING WORKED!!!

Let me know if this worked for you!!!! I know I've looked everywhere for this solution...

email me at music2harvest@msn.com

GOOD LUCK! GOD BLESS!

Adding an icon.

Hi, Usually after you have installed a printer you would go to a program like Word, to type a document and then select print from the file menu or press the little button on the toolbar that looks like a printer. This would then cause your printer to print the document. The same goes from whatever application or program that you are working in. It is not really the normal thing to do to place an icon on your desktop to print as the printer will not know what you wish to print.
If you want to see the printer that you have installed on the system or look at settings for it and maybe print a test page you can view your printer in a couple of different ways depending on what the operating system is that you have on your computer.
Hopefully you have Windows XP and this will be correct. If not the directions will be quite similar though not exact. From the "START" button select "CONTROL PANEL" and when the window opens find "PRINTERS" etc and open it. Inside you should be able to see the printers that you have installed on the computer.
Let me know how you go and if you need any other assistance.
Regards
SeaJade

Here is the driver page for windows xp from canon
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=OSCompatibilitySupportAct&keycode=windr&fcategoryid=231&modelid=6612

here is a different website providing the same drivers for xp200
http://printers.free-driver-download.com/Canon/22877/Canon-S750-BJ-Printer-Driver-v1.62-WHQL-Windows-2000-XP.html

I couldn't find drivers for Vista . I think they are included in Vista installation. Let me know if you need drivers for a different operative system.

Mp 500 printer driver software

Try the Canon website for updated drivers.

If they don't have one, try using the compatibility wizard.

Download the latest driver available from the canon web site

To open the program compatibility wizard
1. click the Start button
2. click Control Panel
3. click Programs
4. click Use an older program with this version of Windows
5. browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The wizard is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.
