My Dell 3010cn color printer worked fine for about a year. Then I noticed on the right side of the page there were splotches, and streaks, including on the edge if the printed image (at the right border) the ink steaks off the end of the image.
After some troubleshooting I was convinced I needed a new Bias Transfer Roller. It has take me 6 months to get one. In the mean time printing in black and white is perfect.
When I replace the Bias Transfer Roller, the same results occurred. I can't be sure if the splotches are in the exact same place as with the previous BTR, but it looks close.
I have tried the cleaner of to the side of the printer and that did nothing. It's almost like there's an static charge somewhere on the drum (I assume there is one).
Can you offer any advise as to what the problem is please?

on the 3010cn open from cover, follow instruction for pulling up the lever and sliding the bar out of the side repeat the slide motion 15 to 20 time. this action cleans the printing plate and will elimiate the strip. the strip is caused be toner leaking on to the plate it the strip returns repeat the steps.
Open the front door and about half way down on the right you'll see a light blue tab. Pull it up and a sliding door will open on the right hand side of the printer. Inside is a slide handle with a swab on it. slide the handle in and out 6-10 times and this shoul help with the problem. Try printing again and if it is still not 100% just retry the cleaning process. I had the same problem and thought it was the fuser, but this worked well for me. You can remove the swab for cleaning as well.
Open the front door. On the right side of the printer a small door will open. Inside is the cleaning rod. Pull it all the way out and push it all the way back a good 20-30 times. Try again. See if that helps.
It is either your drum or open front cover see blue handle @ right hand side pull it out look at rignt hand side of printer and a door has opened (only small) pull the blue lever out and move the pad back andforwards a few times this cleans the glass.
It worked for me but I have to do it fairly often but it samve buying a new drum etc
