XP is an operating system. Office is a computer program. They are two different things, so you can't reinstall it with the XP disk. You will have to reinstall it with the Office disk.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Did the MS Office (full version) come pre-installed on your computer when you purchased the computer ?
If yes, then you had paid for it, when you paid for the computer, so contact the manufacturer of your computer for it's product key, after which download the trial version of it and use your product key to get it activated.
If did was not pre-installed on your computer and you had it installed after you bought the computer, using it's disc and you have lost the disc (and product key), then the only option is to buy it again, either a disc version or a downloadable version.

I can't open my microsoft office?

You can install the MS Office Application using the Discs you have by following the steps below:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/install-or-remove-individual-office-programs-and-components-HA001234067.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA010173340

If you do not have the MS Office Discs, then you can download and install the Trail version of MS Office in your Computer from the following link:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try/try-office-2010-FX101868838.aspx?WT.mc_id=MSCOM_bnr_enus_try

You can click on "Try it Now" for "Office Professional 2010" to download the Trail version.

The Trail version once expired, you may have to buy a license from Microsoft to continue using MS Office.

I accidentally erase part of my product key number on the Microsoft Office XP (standard) installation CD. What can I do to reinstall it because I will have to format my pc

Do a GOOGLE-search for the 'produkey' software.
Download this software, and run it.
It will tell you the serial-number that you used when you installed MS Office XP. Write the product-key down!

MISSING MS OFFICE AFTER UPDATING XP SP1 TO XP2

Hi, Look in your program files. R/click computer, R/click Local disc. Then right click program files. If the folder is there open it, reinstall office.
You can also go to search, type in ms office and see if the file is still installed.
If the file is gone you will have to reinstall using a ms office disc.
