Always include make and model info otherwise only a general (and often not very helpful) answer is possible. The likely problem is a failed main power supply.

Sony KDL-52w5500 black screen 13 blink then 14 blink

You have a couple of problems if you are sure there are 2 different blink codes. 13 blinks indicates a backlight balancer error which would explain your no light condition. 14 blinks would be a TCON board error which is the driver board for the LCD screen. Either error would keep the screen black.

Screen is black and power indicator light blinks steadily

Samsung TV's seem to be notorious for this. This generally means that there is a fault somewhere on the main boards and the components are shorting out.
Unfortunately, it's not economically feasible to repair flat panel tv's. It can be done by an expert repairman, but the cot of the new tv isn't far from what the repair cost will be.

Samsung LCD TV Model Number LN40A500 The screen is black and power indicator light blinks steadily. Troublshooting solutions in manual did not work.

Replace the power supply to start with as it sounds like a capacitor has blown. If power supply is o.k then Im afraid your projector may be faulty but I'd be fairly confident its a capacitor, They are 80% of the problems we see coming in for repair. You can examine the power supply and see if you can identify the faulty capacitor and cut it off the board and solder a new one on of the same rating. It will be fairly obvious if one has blown as it will be burned and split. Dont touch any capacitors without discharging them though or you could get a bit of a shock. Google how to discharge a capacitor and youll see directions. Hope this helps.

Philips 170V LCD screen steadily blinks on and off, even when not

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

unit has an internal problem, have an electronics tech look over the power supply as well as the main pcb nd the drive pcb for the lcd panel, it is rare that those symptoms are caused by the panel.
