Actually your labtop is damaged due to circuit shortage happened to any leakage of liquid - Damage is to the chipset (05/00 425.00 CHIPTECH 1515 10/31/98) according to Tosibha liquid damages are not covered under the warranty. if you got insurance coverage over your laptop you can claim to your insurance company

When you buy new laptop take insurance upon damage, loss and theft.

Personally, I wouldn't pay them 425.00 to fix 'damage' that you KNOW did not occur. Call them back and tell them that their assessment is incorrect and you expect them to honor their warranty and fix your laptop and get it back to you pronto. If not, you will contact the Better Business Bureau as well as the Attorney General for your state. If that doesn't get you anywhere, tell them to send it back to you without repairing it. Now, tell me what happened when it just quit working. It's possible we may be able to help you.

To whom it may concern, My name is heather. I have a Toshiba L505D. That I purchased last March 2010. It is still under warranty and the computer is no longer charging.I even bought a new charger for it...

Hello.

With the cables disconnected, remove and reinsert the battery. Also, try to power on with the battery removed to see if the battery is faulty.

If still a problem, and since your computer is still under warranty, I would strongly suggest to contact Toshiba for a repair.

Since Toshiba is world-wide, look in your documentation for a tech support or customer support contact for Toshiba.

Hope this helps.

How do I replace ac plug in on a toshiba laptop?

You can buy any standard "universal AC/DC adapter". They will come with several different tips to fit your laptop. I bought this one for my Toshiba Satellite series and it works well:
LINK HERE. It is available in store and online at best buy.

There is also a cheaper one available from Walmart HERE. It is from Kingston and has a 1 year warranty so it should work well and have you covered.

Let me know what area you live in and I can track one down close. I have also bought one from Ebay that was cheap and worked without a problem. Let me know and I can look one up(ebay tends to be cheapest with power adapters in the 10-35$ range.

Well done - with a little effort you should be getting back to normal. Most companies now have problems with support services. Some times it is best to do like you and take the bull by the horns and get it done.

Best of it. f7cac40.jpg

If this was a new machine & still under warranty I would take it back to get it repaired. I suspect that it hasgot a hard drive that could be on the way out. If this is a second hand machine, get a new drive & re-install Windows or install Linux instead, it would work even better.

Hi, sounds like a loose component inside your computer. Probably not worth looking at yourself if it's in warranty, get it sent back to Toshiba.

Is it still under warranty?

Would suggest calling HP Customer Support at 1-800-HP INVENT to see what they can do. They will be able to look up the repairs based on the serial # of the laptop.

Most replacements are only offered after 3rd time the same part is replaced.

You could also try Best Buy customer service at 1-888-237-8289.

Hope this helps.

MY MONITOR DOES NOT COME ON

Doesn't turn on (power), or will not display anything?

Bad memory chips will cause the display to be inoperable.
I once put PC-2700 chips in a laptop that would only take PC-2100. The chips I received were wrong, but I didn't check before installng them. Anyway, it worked like a champ for about 5 mo. Then the display went out. I could tell that the computer was still operating, so I sent it back for warranty repair. Of course, the chips were aftermarket, so it wasn't covered under warranty, but that was the problem.
