There could be a blown fuse in the power supply that is not letting the DVD to power up.

If your device is less then a year old, still under warranty.

If not less then a year old, I would suggest to open the cover and locate the fuse with the DVD unplug from the outlet and see if it's blown. If the fuse is blown, you can buy one at radio shack with the same voltage and current ratings of the original.

I wouldn't suggest to take to a repair center because the repair might exceed the price of the DVD.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

After viewing for 2 minutes my TV automatically shuts down. Sometimes I get a pop-up screen that says "Disconnecting anynet + device. How can I fix this?

One of the options in the TV setup is to allow other components like DVD players to control via the HDMI cable the power turn on and off of other components, The feature is available for all any-net complaint components,

This allows for when you power up the DVD player the TV comes on at the same time. And when you power down the DVD player the TV goes off. At times this feature can create confusion.

Suggest you go into settings on the TV and disable/off the any-net+ feature.

Under this set up the TV will need to be turned on/off separately from the other components. Also the video input will be needed to be selected. In this setting other components.can no longer control the TV.

Bought a proscanlcd hdtv 32lb30Q unable to get cable signal

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, pls confirm if below is how it is wired using a coaxial cable and not 3cable RCA to RCA:
  • Charter Digital Cable > DVD/VCR > TV
If yes and your concern is snowy or no signal on the TV screen, might it be that you have to power OFF the DVD/VCR when selecting channels on the TV itself (including when channel setup is being done).

Alternately, you can tune the TV to channel 3 and let the DVD/VCR do the channel selections.

Pls post back results. Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Hi, After a recent severe lightenung storm my Samsung DVD player is not working. When turned on it read CD/DVD Protection and shuts off. Will not open/close or stay on. Tina

Hello.. Since the problem ocurred after a lightning storm then there is a good chance that your dvd player experienced a power surge from the power line and may be seriously damaged. Try unplugging the unit fromn the wall plug and let it staythat way for 10-20 minutes then plug it in again.. if it continues to malfunction then it is probably junk.. The power down/power up reset sometimes clears malfunctions like this but not always... and especially not if a component inside it is damaged.. Good Luck..

Polaroid lcd tv w/ built in dvd player dvd player quit working, now tv stopped working too,at first i could turn it off unplug the tv plug it back in and it would be fine, but now it doesn't work at all,...

This denotes a problem with the power supply for the unit. This may be as simple as removing the power board and replacing it or as complex as repairing the board itself. Repairing the board would be the cheaper option, but In either case I would suggest that you let a qualified TV technician perform this task, due to the possibility of electrical shock hazards.

I hope this helps,

TV remote will not work properly

I have a Mitsubishi WD-52725 TV, too, and have experienced the same problems with it. My solution to the remote not responding is to push the reset button on the front of the TV (to the left of the Power button) with a paper clip and wait for the green light to stop blinking (about 1 minute). Then, turn it back on and try the remote again. Recently, my remote stopped responding when pushing certain buttons on it. I removed the batteries, and all of the little screws including the one inside the battery compartment and gently cleaned the contacts inside the remote and the circuit board with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. After putting it back together, it works fine now.

TV Remote will not work

I was told that there is a short in the power supply, which needs to be built back up. The estimate for repair is $450. Is this reasonable? Thanks.
