Usually the speakers on the laptop would act as a microphone- go into speaker properties, enable microphone and see it reacts. Bar that, you could go with the usb or bluetooth microphone route (I use the same headset for my phone as a microphone for my pc)

Go to device manager and check the list until you find microphone, click on left box, and right click on the contents, look for the word disable and click on it to deactivate the microphone.

Go into device manager and uninstall the microphone.

hiclick on speaker icon on the taskbar near the time location and open it then tick the box of n microphone

You may need to increase the microphone level, it may be set too low.

Check the device manager to see any device is missing. If so reinstall the device drivers. You can download the drivers from ACER site.

While most laptops comes with a built in webcam and microphone, this particular model does not. If you don't see a web cam built in to the top of your screen, chances are you also won't find an internal microphone. You'll need to purchase additional accessories in order to use your laptop with Skype.

Go click the Start >> All Programs (or Programs) >> Accessories >> Entertainment >> Volume Control. Make sure the check box for Microphone is not muted. You can also increase the volume of your mike through that settings.

I don't think the laptop comes with a microphone.

The Inspiron 6000 doesn't have an internal microphone.
It only has an microphone jack, for use with an external microphone.
