For what game are you looking for ranks for? If you're meaning through wifi it depends on the game (each game-rank is different)

Could you please tell me how my granddaughter can pause her spectrodes ds game as she keeps losing her points when she leaves the game.

Hello there.

Usually, games on DS has a pause option by pressing "START". But there are some games which doesn't have that option, but you can still pause it by "Closing the DS" so it will go to "Sleep". Don't turn it off! Just close it.
