Zebra S400 does not keep the calibration settings. After calibrating or restoring factory settings (like described in the manual) first label prints OK (using BarTender software) then it's off again. Same...

After you calibrate the printer. Press feed a few times. If it feeds a single label each time, then the calibration was successful.Power off and on while holding the cancel button. (config printout). Keep config for reference. Send label print from computer. If it does not work, then check that the printer driver matches the config printout. The computer printer driver will change and overide the settings in the printer

The printer works OK but it prints two lines clearly but every third is feint almost half the writing is ommitted

Set the print quality to normal or best.
Clean the printhead
Run a calibration.
The Kodak EasyShare AiO performs a calibration every time you install or replace a printhead. However, you can run a calibration if you are seeing changes in the image quality. Calibration aligns the printheads and performs a nozzle health check to enable high-quality prints.
1 Load the main tray or photo tray with photo paper.
IMPORTANT: If you don't have any photo paper, you can use plain paper, but photo paper is highly recommended for calibrations.
2 Press and hold Photo and Cancel together to make a calibration print.
3 Follow the instructions on the calibration print to calibrate the printer.

My colors are printing separately, divided and do not overlap or blend. I use a Roland 540 printer, and I have replaced chips, motherboard, and encoder sheet. What would cause this?

If a gap is present decrease the value by going to Menu, Calibration, Setting and pressing the Down Arrow to decrease the percentage shown to match what setting is best on the test pattern. Press Enter to save the value. If the printer does not show multiple test patterns perform the Feed Calibration, Test Print again to check the results.
If an overlap is present increase the value by going to Menu, Calibration, Setting and pressing the Up Arrow to increase the percentage shown to match what setting is best on the test pattern. Press Enter to save the value. If the printer does not show multiple test patterns perform the Feed Calibration, Test Print again to check the results.
Tech Tip: The Feed Calibration is a very fine adjustment meaning that an incremental adjustment of .05% or 10% is very small. Some media will require an adjustment in much larger steps.
Note: The Feed Calibration setting on the printer will be overridden by Versaworks as a default. This can lead to a very confusing scenario where the Feed Calibration setting doesn't appear to make any adjustment. Please see the next page for information on setting the Feed Calibration in Versaworks.

Once the proper Feed Calibration has been established on the printer it is important to make sure this setting is correct in Versaworks. Once Versaworks is open and a job has been loaded, perform the following steps:
A. Double click on the print job to bring up the Job Settings window and set up your media size, copies and other relevant items under Layout.
B. Select the Quality tab and Select the proper Media Type for the job. This step is critical because the Feed Calibration is tied to the type of media being used. When the Media Type is changed the Feed Calibration setting will change to the setting which is default for the Media Type.
C. Next select the Printer Controls tab on the left hand side and under Feed Calibration Controls choose Use Printer Setting.
D. Select OK to save the settings.
Tech Tip: In step C you can also select Use Custom Settings and enter in a value for the Feed Calibration. This allows for making corrections to the Feed Calibration without changing the settings manually on the printer. If you choose Use Default Media Settings or Use Custom Settings the value that has been set on the printer will always be overridden.
Tech Tip: In addition to having multiple test patterns which make for a quick and easy selection to be made the RS, XJ & AJ printer models allow adjustment of the Feed Calibration mid-print by taking the following steps:
A. Press the Menu key
B. Scroll to Calibration, Setting and pressing the Down Arrow to decrease the percentage shown or Press the Up Arrow to increase the value.
C. Press Enter to save the change in value.

What is the calibration sheet

A calibration sheet it what tells the printer how colors should actually look, and how they should print out. These should print out as you set your printer to calibrate itself. You place that sheet on the printer's glass (scanner).

Hope this helps. :)

No guarantee this will fix your problem, but the last time I experienced this problem it ended up being one of the toner cartridges. I replace her refurb. toners to OEM brand.

Color isn't true

You'll need to calibrate your screen and your printer - calibration is required for every set of paper and ink you use. It's quite a science and an art. I suggest you google "colour space" "printer calibration" "gamut" etc and read up on it. Alternatively you could spend a few hundred quid on a printer calibration tool, either the Colormunki or the Spyder print studio.

It still won't match perfectly, as the way color is created on a screen differs hugely for to how it is produced on paper.

Start with a properly calibrated screen first though (my money is on the Spyder elite screen calibrator and spyder print calibrator)

I'm a pro photographer and I print my own photos - full system calibration is the only way. www.yourhandinmine.co.uk

Zebra 105se blank labels problem

I would say the roller isn't the problem. I had the same problem on many Zebra printers, but often the calibration helped. Then it could do, when printing task label is for larger/longer than the label size is set in the printer system (conflict of software with printer settings after calibration). It could be set too down to bottom in Y axis. Or it could be in the software settings - as action after print - not sure.
Try to open the printer queue while the label is printed and check if the label has proper number of pages or there's 1 page more. If it is the right number - then the problem is on printer side (recalibrate, reflash it). If the number is about 1 higher, the problem is with settings of the label size (barcode software, printer settings) or action after print on PC side.

Set up

May be your problems can be solved doing a calibration. To do this, turn off the printer, press the feed key and turn on the printer. When the led flashes in red quickly release the feed key, the printer will start to calibrate and after the calibration will feed one label.

It is explained in the user manual.

HP Color Laserjet 3500 Problem

If you are sure the diagnostics show the colours correctly, one thing I would look at is to see if it had a colour profile set up for it.Don't know whether this printer normally has, if it has not I would suggest reinstalling the driver. To check - Start/Printers & Faxes/ Rt click on printer then properties, look under Colour management tab. Pete
