Can you use another monitor to get into the settings on your pc? If so, hook that one up. Go into Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, Power Options. Check to see what the settings are. Do you leave your pc on all the time? That's what I do. But I turn my monitor on and off when I need to use the pc. In Power Options, make sure that Power Schemes is "always on," and choose "never" for every other option. Then hook up your monitor and see if that helps.

I've had this problem from even trying to restart my pc at times. it happens usually when you've changed or added something that the pc wasn't prepared to do. if you've installed a new card. disconect it and try again. installing the drivers and software for it first.

my next suggestion would be to try to start your pc using a dos boot disk. it may just be your o/s. however their is the connector on the motherboard, it may have gone bad. if using another monitor didn't work, i would suggest to purchase a new video card. I use nvidia they've got some really good products.

How do I repair my 19in LCD monitor, it receives video signal, but goes black screen?

Connect the "bad" monitor to the VGA-out port on a notebook/laptop computer, to see if it works normally when connected. If not, then the monitor is "dead".
If it works fine, check the "screen-resolution" of the computer's video-card, to see if the values exceed the capability of the monitor.

I have a Dell Dimension 5100 and the monitor is showing a blank screen. The light on the monitor is flashing green. Everything else seems to be ok as I can hear it starting up.

Hello
Check the data cable (the cable from monitor to CPU), might gone loose, otherwise the monitor need be handled technically for repair.
Good Luck, feel free to contact for more assistance

Display starts out OK, but after a few minutes it begins to flicker in the upper corners, and the turns on and off a few times before staying black?! Everything else seems to function OK.... BIOS issue???...

please check the monitor or LCD that you have. because the computer will not flicker if there is a problem on the display. isolate it. use other monitor or LCD then check if it flickers again.

No power to monitor

Your problem is really multiple problems. One is if the monitor blew out, the second is weather it damaged the computer when it went, the third is if the computer went first killin the monitor. I would first see if your computer is ok by turning it on with out any monitor connected and listen to hear if it sounds as usual. If not something may be wrong with your computer. If everything is ok plug in another monitor (borrow from a freind if you do not have a spare) and see that the computer is ok. If it's ok great but if there is a problem with the computer that is a whole new question.Next if the monitor's on light does not come on and you know it has power the monitor is most likely fried. Hope this helps and could use more details
