Hi, I have Olivetti PR2E. Now i am using notebook, so there is no serial port at my notebook. Then i bought the usb to serial port cable. I add printer (Generic/text) cannot printing out. then i install the driver, also have a same problem. Any solution for this? Thank you.

Is this connecting via wifi or usb?
USB should just work with anything using Windows Vista and upwards... Have you got the correct printer drivers installed?

You can not directly wire USB to rs232 serial via wires. They are different protocols with different voltages, speed, communications, etc.
You require an active electric converter which contains circuitry to transform the protocol.
USB to serial converters are pretty cheap. They will automatically show up as a com port on windows or as /dev/ttySx on Linux.

olivetti pr2 ready led is on, with out cable

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
