OE problem

An OE error presents if the washing machine has not successfully drained the water in ten minutes. However, the OE error code does not always mean that the washer requires a service call. If periodic maintenance has not been performed on the washer, there are a few simple steps to take before calling for service.
Items caught in the drain filter will prevent proper drainage. Over time build up can occur from detergents and additives used in the machine. Manually drain unit through the drain hose, then lay a towel down to catch the water, and remove the filter. Clean the filter thoroughly and restart the machine.
If the drain hose is not installed properly, the washer will not drain properly. The drain hose should not be installed more than 1 meter higher than the bottom of the washing machine.

If the unit is not leveled properly, it will not drain properly. The front of the unit cannot be higher than the back or vice versa. If not properly leveled, the water can flow back into the machine. If this is the cause of the problem, please level the machine using the supplied leveling wrench. When you place a LEVEL on the washing machine, the bubble should be in the center. Confrim that the washer is leveled from side to side and front to back.

LG Washing Machine OE Error Code

Your LG Washing Machine has stopped and is giving you an OE error code. What does this mean?
If you are getting this code it is because your washing machine has tried for at least ten minutes to drain the water out of the machine. If you are even a little bit handy, there are a couple of things that you can do to try and avoid a service call.

If you have a LED model you will see this
f13e6b7.jpg

If you have a LCD model you will see this
f48cf92.jpg

The most likely cause of this problem is that you have a plugged pump filter or you have something stuck in the pump filter. Some common obstructions are detergent build up, hair, coins, etc…

First make sure that you unplug your washing machine.

To clean out the pump filter you must empty the washing machine water. The best way to do this is to manually drain the water into a low bucket or basin. Then lay a towel down to catch to remaining small amount of water. Remove the pump filter, clean out any debris, and wash out the filter. Then plug your washer back in and restart the washing machine.

Here are some other things to check if cleaning the filter does not solve the error code.

Check the drain hose to make sure that your do not have it installed too high up. The pump will not push water up much higher then 1 meter.

Check that your machine is properly leveled. A washer that is too far out of level may not drain properly. Make sure that you are level front to back as well as side to side.

Clothes not clean after washing

Were the settings appropriate for the clothing?
The settings on the machine should be set properly for the load. Different fabric types require different wash/rinse temperatures, spin speeds, and wash times. Always follow the instructions printed on the fabric care label. The soil level needs to be set in accordance with the load type. Heavily soiled clothing will not come clean with a light soil level setting.
Was the proper detergent used?
If too much detergent is used, or non-HE detergent is used, the machine will not wash properly. Too many suds present during a wash decreases tumbling action and will not rinse out well. Furthermore, detergent residue built up in the machine over time will deposit extra detergent on clothes and deposit soil back into clothing.

Was the washer overloaded? If the machine is overloaded, the machine will not wash and rinse properly. When the washer is overloaded, the clothes have no room to tumble, and the cleaning performance of the washer is reduced. In addition, when the clothes are packed tightly inside the drum the detergent and water will not distribute evenly throughout the items.

Front loaders require regular maintenance to ensure optimum performance. If this maintenance is not followed, residue can accumulate in the drum resulting in detergent and soil being deposited back into clothing. This can also lead to odor and other issues. Perform the required maintenance regularly (once or twice a month).

Washing Machine Maintenance

Once a year you should take the time to give the washer machine that serves you so well a little bit of tender loving care. This bit of time may prevent you from having washing machine problems in the future. If you can prevent just one washing machine repair it will be well worth your time. While you are doing the preventive maintenance, you also can do a bit of washing machine cleaning as well.

Washing machines are not fun to fix, here are some things that will help you to prevent that emergency repair.

-Check the hoses on the back of the washing machine for cracks, rust or corrosion on the connecting fittings, blisters on the hoses, and or leaks.
-Cracks in the hoses are signs of a breakdown of the rubber and aging
-Blisters are a sign that the water is getting through the inner lining of the
hose
-If your have corrosion then you either had or have a leak
-If left go the hose may be very difficult to remove in the future

-Check that your washer is setting solidly on the floor and is level.
-Out of level and flopping washers can help to cause out of balance
banging, noise, etc.. leading to premature failure of the washer

-Check to make sure that there is no water that drips from the inside of the washer when it is off.
-Dripping water is a sign that the solenoid valve or water inlet valve is
starting to wear and not closing properly. Replace the valve before is fails
completely.

This also is a good time to run your washer through a cleaning cycle. There are different things to use to clean the washer. One of the good old “green” standby’s is plain old vinegar. Dump a cupful in the washer and run through a short cycle. Other cleaning solutions could include things like Clorox, or other household detergents. There also are commercial cleaning products for cleaning washer machines also.

By doing these things once a year you will help to make sure that your washer will give you the best service possible.

Water won't drain out from the spots where fabric softener goes

It typically has some residual water after a load. All you need to do is to remove the detergent dispenser and dump the water out. To remove the detergent dispenser, pull it out as far it will go, then look into the detergent slot. There should be a horizontal plastic tab in the back of the detergent slot. Press the left side of the plastic tab and pull the dispenser out of the machine. Then you can dump the water from the bleach and fabric softener slots. Just slide it back into the machine and your good to go. Hope this helps.

When I turn on the machine, it begins to fill with water. Water then (before the machine would be full) pours out of the tray area where you add the HE detergent. Anyone know a potential fix?

The leak is due to a clogged, small, plastic screen filter located in the cold water hose attached to the back of the washer.
Remove the filter, clean it, place back in hose and reattached hose to washer.
To make the process easier, you can also place a hose filter in the end attached to the cold water faucet so that you don't have to pull the washer so far from the wall.

Check/clean that strainer/filter several times a year.

Thanks!!
