Some types of Epson printers, replacement ink tank can only be done when ink reach the zero level or chip level not Recognized. You do this by pressing the button on the printer ink, or by following the procedures in Epson satus monitor. If desired the replacement ink tanks when not in the condition mentioned above, it is clearly necessary to shift the carriage to the replacement position. Unfortunately, the carriage must be locked in parking position. This can be overcome by releasing the lock carriage, or turn on the printer; when the printer initialization (move) from the parking position, unplug the power cord. Then the carriage is no longer locked. Scroll to position the replacement carriage

Here is how to get the ink cartridges to move to the changing position on the R320.

1. Press the paper jam/ink button on the printer control panel.
2. A menu comes up. 1st item is ink cartridge replacement. Press
OK button.
3. Another menu with ink cartridge replacement. Press OK button.
4. Thats it, ink cartridges move to the changing position. Change your cartridge as you normally would and follow prompts on screen to finish process.

Hope this helps.

Changed ink printer error on r320

Power off the printer, check for obstructions. Move the print head to the left side, then again check for obstructions. Make sure the cartridge cover is closed. Try to reinstall your inks, push them down the cartridge holder until they click.

I have Epson stylus photo R320 printer and it keeps on saying parts inside your printer are at the end of their life,?

You need to reset waste ink counter. Don't forget to replace or wash waste ink pad. Or just extend outlet pipe from head cleaning mechanics to outside bottle.Use SSC latest version or R320 adjusment program. Find at indoreset.blogspot.com. Or contact me if you don't find out there. It's free.

I have the epson R200 and the ink carriage will not move across the printer anymore. You can manually move it back and forth freely.

Epson R320 carriage jammed

The ink cartridge is probably not inserted correctly.  Unplug the printer and manually move the carriage to a location where you can take the ink cartridge out.

Remove it and reinsert it, making sure that it is fully located, before applying the power.

Make sure that there is nothing blocking the carriage movement, such as some remnant of paper.

Epson Stylus Photo R320

Turn off the power and look inside the machine to the right hand side. Just in front to f the print head you will see a white plastic dowel (see photo). Use something technical - like a finger, pen or screwdriver - to push this dowel in. You can then move the print head by hand to the middle of the carriage.

Once moved, turn the printer on and watch it travel back to the home position. If after returning home the dowel pops back out and does not retract itself, you will need to strip the machine out and rebuild the ASF section. Sounds hard but its just a few plastic parts to take apart and reassemble whilst looking to see if anything is broken.

Get a service manual; for the machine HERE if you need to strip it out.
