Power supply Hi there, I have just got a H4 and loving it, but unfortunately I used the supplied 100V adapter once and plugged it in a 240V UK socket, afterwards it will not turn on again! I am so stupid and I am now worrying if it is dead completely, what should I do now? I am in Birmingham, UK, please help me, or if anyone knows where I can get the machine fixed I will appreciate it.

I'm really sad about it, but i think your H4 is dead.. it happens the same thing to me, I used a wrong power to turn on a minidisc.. and it crashed away forever.. when you connect your hardware to a socket you have to pay attention to the Voltage and to the polarity too.. see u..

I received a ryobi 36v battery charger as a present. It was brought in America and has a American plug. Can I use this charger in Australia

Australia has a 230v supply, and the US 110v. The power supply for your charger will indicate what input voltage it can handle. PCs, for example, typically have power supplies that can use anything between 100v and 240v, which means you can take your laptop from country to country without worrying. My Ryobi charger on the other hand says 240v input, so it doesn't have this flexibility - usually it wouldn't need to. If yours says 110v then you'll need a converter for it to function properly in Australia.

I want use 220volt

Hi,

You should be able to just plug it into your wall socket. If it's a different connector you would just need a different cable. As it uses the standard 'jug cable' you should be able to track one down very easily

Does your power adapter have this label: Link here
Input 100~240V means it can take 100V to 240V
and can be used world-wide.

Can this unit be plugged into a 220v power supply overseas? The manual says it accommodates 100v-240v.

Yes! If you look on the back it should say the voltage ratings. Beside that UK voltages can be as low as 220 at times and in some areas!

A\\VOL Model ALTD1902M - Where to Find Power Cable?

POWER: AC 100V-240V at 50/60 Hertz means that your unit has a switching power supply built in which will operate on ANY AC (alternating current) voltage from 100V up to 240V, on either 50 or 60 hertz frequency.

(110V @ 60 Hertz is an USA wall outlet power standard, whereas 220V @ 50 Hertz is the European wall outlet power standard)

So, you can actually use it with just about any line voltage from a standard home wall power outlet, you just need the correct power cable that fits into your unit on one side and into the wall socket on the other.

The 60W power rating is just telling you how much power the unit consumes for operation which means that if you hook it to a 110V power line (USA), it will draw a current of approximately 0,54 amperes (60 watts divided by 110 volts equals to 0,54545 amperes) and if you hook it to a 230V power line (Europe), it will draw a current of approximately 0,26 amperes (60 watts divided by 230 volts equals to 0,26086 amperes).

The switching power supply in the unit has an internal fuse which is rated somewhat above the 0,54 amperes, could be a 0,63 amperes, but most probably it is rated at about 1 ampere or more.

If the specs you listed are correct, you only need to worry about the correct power cable that will fit into your wall socket on one side and into the combo unit on the other.

Hopefully, if the unit is in good health, you haven't wasted your money after all.

DO NOT buy anything from Impactcomputers.com !!! Link for HP AC power module goes to this website, they are thieves. Send wrong parts, charge you to ship it back, and charge huge restocking fees. Customer service at this site are expert at lying to you. Google "complaints for Impactcomputers.com" and you will see they have 96 complaints to the better business bureau in just a few months. You will never get the part you need from them, they will rip you off.

Can I Use My Camcorder In Another Country?

Each country or region has its own electric and color systems. Before using your camcorder abroad, check the following items: Power sources * You can use your camcorder in any country or area with the supplied AC Power Adapter within 100V to 240V, 50/60 Hz. * Use a commercially available AC plug Adapter, if necessary, depending on the design of the local wall outlet. **Note** The United States and most of the Western hemisphere use electrical systems operating at 110-120 volts. Almost every other country uses 220-240 volts as a standard. Provided that your power adapter displays the following information, (100V~240V) 50/60 hz - it can be used overseas. **You may require an adapter to change the plug shape to match the outlet. Color system You can view your recording in the viewfinder. However, to view it on a television or copy it to a videocassette recorder, the television or VCR must be NTSC compatible and have the appropriate audio/video jacks. Otherwise, you may need to use a transcoder. Note: You can make recordings with your camcorder and view pictures on the LCD from anywhere in the world.
