I recently purchased a new iMac OSX, 10.5.4. I purchased "Greeting Card Creator for Mac" from Borderbund and followed all the download instructions. The download file on my iMac shows that it was downloaded but, when I click on the icon to activate the program a window titled "Greeting Card Creator.sip" pops up. The window contains multiple lines of numbers, letters and symbols that I can neither read nor understand.

Sad to say that FixYa did not fix my problem.  It was finally resolved when a Borderbund representative advised me that I had to install "Stuffit" before I could download the software.  I purchased Stuffit and subsequently have been able to download the Greeting Card Creator.

I got an imac free from work! but.. its running mac osx 10.4 i cant download anything at the moment! what shall i do?

You didn't mention what kind of MAC . . . Check the Apple->About This Mac . . . You can try going to the Apple Store, and for 20 or 30 you can purchase an upgrade/new OS disk. I don't believe that you can go to 10.6 or higher if your Apple's Processor is a PowerPC (PPC).

What are the requirements to download Apple Mountain Lion OSX?

You must have the following computer to download Mountain Lion:

iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)

Once that is done, you must be updated to the most recent version of either Snow Leopard or Lion. If you don't have either of these operating systems (which is highly unlikely considering the other computers should have them, but I digress) then you will need to get them before Mountain Lion.

After that, go to the Apple Store and download Mountain Lion!

Safari doesn't work on this used Imac G4 I just bought, but Camino does work? How do I get Safari working on this old thing?

On the left Top of your monitor is a apple Logo.Tip on it and select "About that Mac" A Window pops up and you select "More Info" it shows you the OSX on it. OSX 10.3 or OSX 10.4 Google "Safari Browser for OSX 10.? " Download it and it will work. You may have the latest Version.

I have imac. and i want to change his operating

Yes it is very easy to do as you are running a Mac with Intel Processor. You have Mac OSx Leopard with updates 1,2, & 3. To upgrade to Mac OSx Snow Leopard you must buy the upgrade. Go here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/ On the top right click (Buy Now) You will have to pay $29 which is a bargain. Once you get the upgrade on CD simply follow the directions for the simple upgrade. I did the same thing when Snow Leopard came out. It is well worth the $29.

Transferring video on cassette to Mac OSX

Are you transferring from cassette to memory card and then to Imac? certainly there is software supported by Imac to accomplish this. You can convert your videos to MPEG format using Imagemixer then try uploading with another program. Imac and OSX should have websites that list compatible software.
