My printer keeps saying insert memory card and will not let me print anything. I have my computer connected through the USB cable, I pulled my printers up on the computer and it showed them offline. Tried connecting online and it now shows error. I'm completely illiterate in these matters.

view & print button is used for viewing the content in the memory card if it is inserted in your printer. If you are giving job from computer and it is not getting printed try the following steps.
1. check the cable between computer and printer. 2. check the printer queue ( see a printer icon on the right bottom of the screen near time). if it is there double click and check whether any document is pending in the queue. if so cancel all pending job and restart the computer and try printing again.
If it does not seat (fit) properly, why say the printer will not read SD cards? It certainly will read SD cards that are supported. You can still upload to computer and print from there as you suggested.
If this printer reads memory cards then in the menue on the printer it might be set to read from card. Set it to print from the port you have plugged into it from the computer. It will be in settings on the printer.
Sound like your printer is not designed to read memory sticks. You will need a card reader that reads memory sticks. An inexpensive multi card reader for about $10. should do the trick. They only work on a computer though. So you can see/read the files on the memory stick, download them to your computer, edit and/or print them. To me, this is the logical way to do it. The screen on the printer is too small to make good judgement calls on cropping and you can't edit them either.
there should be 2 to 4 inserting ports in the printer for memory card, so you have to just insert the memory card in right port and there is also some type of jecks for memory cards to insert them in card readers.
the printer is being info-fed by the memory card, you can set the PC to do it through the utility of the printer, or you may leave the printer unplugged from the power outlet for about 30 minutes, reboot the computer and then power the print up again, this wil refresh the printers settinsg making it print throught he PC.
According to Lexmark's website, the printer will not read a memory card larger than 256MB. They specifically mentioned xD cards, but not cover the other types of cards. I have a 512MB SD card, and had the same problem, so I would guess it can't read anything over 256.
