Question about Maytag Portable Air Conditioner M6P09S2A

Leaking in the maytag m6p09s2a*b

I have the maytag m6p09s2a*b and I believe the top tray is not draining... My carpet is soaked but I don't see where the a/c is leaking from. When I try to drain the bottom tube, a little bit of water comes out. I've opened up my unit and can see that the top tray is filling up with water. Is there a way to drain this? Is there maybe a blockage because I can't find where the top tray is supposed to drain to?

Make sure the drain line is not stopped up and that the drain pan is empty. The pan relay on the heat from code see to evaporate water and with a full pan that isn't going to happen. Drain line or pan full.

Getting wet


The divider is generally not sealed at all, just a lump of metal reinforcement, the coolant may have pooled at the rear. The water will evaporate from the coolant mixture but the coolant will stay a long time so it'll have to be vacuumed out, add water and vacuum some more to pull it from the carpet and padding as much as possible. You can verify whether it's coolant or just rainwater by smelling the carpet. You may be nose blind to it by now from driving the car so have someone else sniff the carpet if you don't detect any coolant smell yourself. It'll also feel more slick than straight water if it's coolant so that's another way to ID the liquid. Option three is a cat or dog, they'll likely try to lick it if it's coolant but don't let it clean the carpet for you unless you dislike the animal.

Buick passenger side front and rear carpets soaking wet


The two most common causes are rain water leaking in or the ac drain being clogged up. I would vote for rain water if the entire carpet area is wet.
Could be coming in around the windshield, or one of the door gaskets.

Air conditioner drain box


Hate to say it,but usually this requires removal and replacement of the entire a/c heater box for new gasket (and any extra sealer needed.) It is quite a job. Also, have had extended cab pickups with leaky door seals at top keep the carpet underlay soaking wet.

Coolant? your heater core may be leaking. Or A/C drain blocked. Unblock the drain first & check radiator is at correct level when cold.

Maytag model m6p09s2a*b leaks water doesn't


Make sure it's mounted correctly..the back of the unit shopuld be slightly lower than the front or water can leak over the pan in the front.

Top tray not draining


I called the service tech, before Maytag stopped supporting this unit. (built by Fedders with Maytag name). Fedders has gone out of business (7-09). The tech guy said that the tray gets clogged up with crud and the solution is to try to flush the tray out with water and compressed air. I had the problem of water leaking from the trays but not properly draining through the drain hose. This solution did the trick.
