Vista displays that message if there is no audio output such as speakers or headphones.Plug in a speaker into the audio jack and the message should disappear.

Audio output device

Hi.

The audio output device in your computer is the audio adapter board (or circuit). This is the device that produces sounds and send them to the speakers.

If you get a message telling you that there is no Audio Output Device detected, or that the Audio Device is not working, that usually means that there is a problem with the audio driver.

In that case the problem is often fixed downloading and reinstalling the drivers for your audio device. If there is a problem with the audio output device, go to the computer manufacturer website (e.g. Dell, HP, Sony etc.) and download the audio drivers for your specific model. When download is complete install the drivers and restart the computer.

Regards.

Iam running xp2 my notherboard is pm800-m2 i found out that there is no sounds even i go to dxdiag to run sound testing but no to avial...i wonder if u could help what driver should i install this...

Most probably the audio/sound devices drivers are not properly installed or check your CMOS Bios to see the on board devices Audio devices is "ENABLED"!!

Check your "Devices Manager" to confirm whether your Audio devices for the motherboard is properly or correctly installed. Ensured that your speaker is properly plug into the correct output port.

If you do need the Audio drivers for your ECS motherboard, you can download the from the ECS Site.

Hope it helps.

When I try to play music I here no soud because i have no audio output device installed,How do I install audio output device on compter(Microsoft Vista Xp)for free?

What type of computer is this?
If you are building this unit yourself, and your motherboard does not come with audio. Then you must purchase a Sound card. I think Soundblaster is a good choice...Try clicking on sys information and see if you system has Audio. if so then check and make sure you have plugged your speakers in too the right output port, look at the back of the computer its usually the green jack.

Thank you

No audio output device installed

Where are you checking? In the Device Manager?
Go there and disable the sound device and then reboot and enable it again. (If you get there and see a device disabled, just enable it and check again to see if you have sound).
Try this and report back if you still have problems.
Please be aware that Microsoft has an excellent online troubleshooter for Vista available here

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

FDISK my drive and re-installed Win XP. I have no sound.

try the following steps. 1. Right click My Computer Icon and select properties then select Hardware tab. 2. After selecting hardware tab click Device Manager button. 3. After clicking it list down all devices that you have and expand the  "Sound Video and Game Controller" by click the clicking the plus(+) sign and it shown you the list sound devices. 4. In the list, look for explanation point(!) in yellow color beside device name (this means that device driver is missing or not properly installed) 5. Select the device name and press right click and choose uninstall. 6. After uninstallation click Action Menu and select "Scan for Hardware Changes" (this will scan the other device which is not yet installed in the system) 7. System will prompt you to load the Audio driver(insert the Audio device cd driver) if your using a built-in audio use your desktop/laptop device driver cd and locate the driver folder from cd and choose sound or audio folder the list and select the proper windows for your computer. 8. after running installation the volume bar should appear  in the right side of your desktop allong with computer date & time. if not restart your computer.
