Unfortunately I have heard that the bases on this model of Acer aren't meant to come off once they are put on properly. There are clips that hold the base in place that if manipulated properly should let you wiggle the base off gradually. Using a screwdriver or other thin, flat object to wedge the clips out of the way is usually a good bet.

You need to find the original instructions for putting the monitor together, or you could accidentally break the base from the monitor if you attempt to remove it the wrong way. Try Google.

Attaching Samsung 2033 monitor to base

The solution is that you simply have to really force the monitor onto the base post. Thanks anyhow.

VG930M-3 Taking base of this monitor...

After a chat with a Viewsonic tech and pulling out a lot of screws, this is what I discovered you have to do;

Find a secure place to turn your VG930M upside down, like on an armchair.

Undo the central screw on the base and remove the rotating black plastic plate.  Make sure you know which way it goes back on again.

Remove all the screws on the metal plate, something like eight around the circumference and another two which attach to the LCD support column. (You were never just going to pull that base off!).

Now for the tricky bit! The support column has two extensions that extend down into the base and click into position.  You have to get a flat blade screwdriver and push one of them towards the centre while trying to lift the base just a little away from the support column, so that it is unclipped.

Then you have to do the same with the other extension, while lifting the base a little. The base should now pop off.

Not as straight forward as some screens but achievable!
Good Luck!

Acer p221w monitor removing base

Since you have surely looked, it isn't held on with exposed screws.
Check to make sure that the rounded area that allows tilting is not part of the case but appears to be separable.
Most that are removable are held by a tongue and a fairly obvious release tab.

if you can't remove the base, just place the monitor in the carton on good padding and upside down.
Fill and cushion the sides well, mark the carton with 'This side up' and an arrow and hope there are no malicious handlers on the trip.

I've shipped numerous monitors of different sizes and types and have lost none of them to shipping damage.

The only way to adjust the tilt on these monitors is to loosen the screws that attach the stand to the monitor. We had to completely remove the stand from the monitor to get to these stand screws.

How to remove the base from the monitor

For monitor or TV bases that have four clips, I found if two people each take two opposite clips, and use thumbs to push in the clips, we can pop the base off fairly easily. It is impossible with one person, since thumb and forefinger can't exert sufficient pressure on the clips.
