I used a D-link Dir-625 wireless router to work with my new Macbook(with Mac OS 10.5.4) and find that the computer will disconnects almost every 15 minutes and I have to restart the computer before I can continue using the internet. My apple Macbook has the same problem of it constantly dropping off after several mins. I have to unplug the router and replug it to start working again. I have DSL with ATT and they are no help.

I'm having the same problem... Every 15min or so the router drops me. Its a new DLink as well. I have a Macbook. I've learned that simply restarting my airport works and I don't have to reboot the whole computer, but the router still boots me every 15min.

The problem which you describe could source from many different issues. I would suggest to first reset the router to the default settings (pushing the little button at the back side of the router) and set it again using the Dlink Wizard.

Try to configure the DIR-625 wireless router. Connect your computer to one of the LAN port to one of the router. Then access the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1) configure as dynamic IP then clone the MAC address. Make sure that you modem is connected to Internet port section of the router. Check the Internet connection after the configuration leave the other behind check the connection of the main router before installing the other one.

Macbook pro only laptop in house that drops wireless connection

This sounds like an Intermittent Wireless connection problem. This is caused by cordless phones with 2.4GHz frequency. What you can do is change the Wireless Channel of your router to a different frequency/channel like channel 11, 1 or 9. Also you can try to relocate the base of your cordless phone away from the router or to a different room. In addition, you can try positioning the router to higher places like on top of cabinet or mount it on the wall..

What a static ip is, is the ip address that the router automatically assigns to other equipment. (computers, xbox, ect.) Find D-links customer support line for help.
