Question about Brother GX-6750 Typewriter

Printing different letters

I have had a problem all day with the typewriter I have (gx6750). The machine stopped typing and was apparently out of ribbon. I replaced the ribbon and all of a sudden it prints all different symbles letters and numbers. I pressed the code and reset and all it does is change to other confusing figures.

I WAS TYPING PAYROLL CHECKS AND WHEN I WENT TO TYPE THE SECOND ONE ONLY HAVE THE LETTERS WERE TYPING. I CHANGED TO A NEW RIBBON AND IT STILL IS ONLY PRINTING HALF THE LETTERS. IT IS ALSO TYPING OTHER THINGS WHEN I PUSH ONE LETTER IT DOESNT SOMETHING ELSE. I HAVE REPLACED THE RIBBON AND CORRECT TAPE, HIT THE CODE/RESET BUTTON AND NOTHING IS WORKING. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. I DONT KNOW IF I HAPPEN TO HIT A BUTTON IN ERROR.

    PLEASE HELP.

The typewritter is a piece of junk.....everything I try to type it starts typing a completely different letter than the one i am using. I can't figure out how to make it stop-also when you hit the return key it returns then gets stuck and makes a loud noise until you turn it off and back on to make it stop.

My Brother GX6750 is the wrong typing letters

Printwheel in wrong. release the printwheel, make sure the pin is aligned with the slot on the hub and snap it back in. The printwheel should spin, then home out to the left margin, then it should be ok. Check to make sure no pedals on the printwheel are bent.

Brother GX6750 Typewriter - only the top of the letters prints out. I know it's not the ribbon because the problem happens with my other ribbon too.

Is the print in the center of the ribbon? if so the platen may not be fully seated in the side frames. Remove the correction tape it may be in wrong and robbing the print.

There is either a slide switch labeled 10, 12 & 15 or a botton you press that changes indicator lamps to those numbers. Go to 15
(15 letters per inch} tou may also want to get a 15 pitch printwheel.

Hi, I am having a problem with my Model GX6750 typewriter. While I was typing it started typing on its own. It typed a line and a half then I shut it off. When I turned it back on it is not typing the...

Sounds like the machine may have a staple or paper clip on the electronic circuit board. Turn OFF and UNPLUG the machine. The main circuit board is located under the keyboard, so tilt the machine towards the rear (on its back) and listen for anything loose in the machine. Look inside and locate the foreing object. If necessary, tun the machine upside down and shake up and down. Do not turn the machine back on until you have removed the foreign object.

GX6750 Typing wrong letters

Linda, first of all, does the daisy wheel spin when the typewriter is first turned on? if it does, then you will feel assured that it is installed properly. Next, refer to your manual to key board settings. It will indicate that there are settings for normal standard English keyboard and somehow that setting may have been changed. It would be also be important to check the daisy wheel to see if it is compatible with standard English keyboard...Cheers, John
