IPod 80GB connectig to computr to download music in stero
I don't have the users manual for my iPod 80GB. My son left it to me when he went back east. When I play it over my car stereo with the Belkin tuneCast, it only plays half the stereo through both speakers. I believe it was transferred in mono loosing half the true stereo sound. like it will play the backup vocals and not the lead vocalist. He may have used a non stereo transfer cable or his is broke. Now I would like to put music into the iPod but am unfamiliar with the process please help if you can . thnx MG

First, I could be wrong but I don't think you can delete songs directly from the Ipod. What you can do is plug it into Itunes and when your player is recognized make sure the Sync Automatically is unchecked and the Manage Music Manually (Third block down, It says something like that) is checked.
On the left side, under your Ipod select music. All your music files will be displayed. You can either individually delete the songs or, by holding in Ctrl and clicking the songs you dont want, highlight them all and do one mass delete.
Secondly, when all of the files are erased from your Ipod, go to the music portion in the Itunes library and delete these songs there as well so he cannot put them back on. (It's also a great way to get back at him for messing with your Ipod by erasing all of his songs)
Good luck and if this helped you please give me a 4 thumbs up rating! After you do all that if you wouldn't mind replying to my post, let me know how it went.
I had the same problem. And I coudn't remember my SCREEN LOCK Password as your son. So what I did was I just disconnecteed my IPOD while it was connected to itunes without properly ejecting. This method doesn't retrieve or resets the password, it justs opens your ipod out of the screen lock. so your son can hear his music as usual until he can get a password retreive helper.
Hey, It seems like you have some problem with syncing. Try going on your ipod screen in itunes then tick the box that says "manually manage music". Try coping the auido book and then your songs it should work.
Try it on another computer and if it happens its the ipod.
Or try restalling itunes with the lates version (7.7.1)
If that doesnt work try using a different program for your ipod eg Jriver media center
Look in the music folder (top left of the main itunes page). You should see all of your songs there. If they are there, then plug in your ipod, click on the name of your ipod (left hand ide of the screen) and check the box on the main screen that says (manually manage music). Then go back to the main music folder again, and select all of the songs, (you can do this by clicking on the first ong in the list, hold down the shift key and then click on the last song in the list), then drag and drop all of the songs onto your ipod in the list at the left.
