Assuming you have fitted the 2 piece sliders on the keyboard shelf, slide them out as far as they go to reveal screw holes, then screw them to the cupboard sides and the keybord will slide in and out

I was given a desktop computor where you had to push alt & contol key then delete to gain access; from there you hit enter and the computor would open up. This worked many times until recently I must...

Ctl + Alt+ Del is the normal way of starting up a networked computer on say Win2000 or XP etc.
It does sound like the keyboard controller has packed up and as that is part of the mother board, not easilly replaced. Try holding F8 key down as it boots, if the computer goes into a DOS menu, then the Keyboard controller is OK and you have to figure out how to reset the network setting on the PC. but you won't be able to do that without a working keyboard.!
You may have to format the hard drive and put a fresh sytem on it if the keboard driver is missing as there is no way of driving the system without an active keyboard.

I MOVED FROM GA TO AZ AND HAD MY COMPAQ SHIPPED ALONG WITH A LOT OF CABLES, ETC. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO PUT THIS TOGETHER TO GET ONLINE. PRETEND I'M FIVE YEARS OLD AND YOU'RE HELPING ME I HAVE A MONITOR,...

It can be intimidating when looking at a huge mass of wires and stuff, but not to worry, it may be a little time consuming, but is is all logical.
First set the monitor on the desk and plug it in to the wall. then take the second cable that has a million little prongs sticking out of the retangular plug and hang it to where the Case is going to sit. Put the case where you want it close to or on the desk. look at the back of the case, the cable that is coming from the monitor can only fit 1 socket in the back of the pc.
Now, 10% done!!! that wasn't hard!
Now put the mouse and keyboard on the desk and thread the cords through the back of the desk to the pc. Usually, the pc has two sockets right next to each other right on the top of the case in back, that are round and the size of a dime. That is where the keyboard and mouse plug in. Look at the back of the pc for color coding of plug color to socket color or look for pictures of which cable goes in which socket.
Ok, now find the big thick black cable that plugs into the wall and ends in a big thick square. Plug it into the power supply of the pc. It only fits one place.
Plug it into the wall now.
Now all you should have is speakers and a printer.
Look at the speakers, Depending if they are standard, or 5.1 dolby surround, they either have 1 or 3 plugs that go into the pc. Plug the speakers into the wall, then look at the back of the pc for 3 small holes. one should be labled, speakers. There is line in and microphone as well. plug in the speakers...... ,
Ok, printer, funky thick plug, or usb cable..... Either one, look at the back of the pc, it only goes in one spot!!
TADA

Now, you need to plug in the internet stuff. plug the router to the walll, connect to phone line or cable, then plug in the cable that looks like a big (usually yellow) phone cable. Plug it into the network card plug on the back of the pc.

Surf, have fun.
PLEASE VOTE 4 THUMBS FOR ME!!!!!!
Good luck and have fun.

When switch on desk top computor it bleeps saying unable to detect mouse/keyboard but mouse lights up

This can be caused by loose connections or a failure on the main computer motherboard. With the computer off pull the keyboard and mouse connections off and then reinsert them. Boot the computer and see if it finds them. Also try a differant keyboard and mouse. That will tell you if it is one or the other that has the problem. If you still cant use the keyboard or mouse then you have a more serious problem and are most likely looking at replacing the motherboard. Check to see if you have any warrenty either from IBM or the store you bought from.

I have a foxconn C51XEM2AA that suddenly failed to boot up ,with no previous symptoms. About 3 days before this non startup my wife in haste got her foot caught in the mouse wire and pulled the computer...

it looks like something is loose .
open it up , take off everything , connect back everything .
ensure that everything is fully inserted and seated.
then turn on.
if nothing is damaged , it should come on.
if it comes on and shows no operating system , you need to reformat and reinstall.
good luck

CANT GET WIRELESS MOUSE TO WORK

Try changing with a new set of batteries. also try to reset the connection of the wireless mouse and keyboard. you can locate a connect button on both the reciever and wireless keyboard. press both of them together and release them. this would reset the connection. try doing the same for reciever and wireless mouse connect buttons. this should work. also check for any possible alignment issues.
