Question about InFocus Proxima UltraLight X350 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

I have an X3 Infocus and it apparently needs a new power cord. The teacher using it reports that if you even touch the cord slightly, the picture you are projecting turn pink. I need to know where I can get a new cord and the cost.

It doesn't seem like the power cord, it seems more like the computer (vga) cord. either way, the pinkness is the resolution and inputs changing. make sure it's on computer and not component.

yes try to check the bulb if broken but when you replace the bulb be sure not to touch the glass surrounding because if accidentally touch the glass their will be a mark appearing on the screen.

I have a infocus Lp 240 projector I have only used a couple of times we had a thunder storm and the power surged now I can't get projector to come on.... What wrong with it

I would expect the Power Supply is ruined, and maybe even the entire unit has been damaged. Look with Power Spikes, you can often get Insurance coverage for this event. You need to take it to a reputable repair place and if they agree that it has suffered a Power Surge/Strike, they write a report and you can claim insurance. I write reports like this for customers quite a bit.

InFocus LP530 with burnt original power unit. To use a new bulb, what is required to upgrade the power unit? (Apparently, 5 resistors need to be changed)

unfortunately, infocus no longer makes or even carries parts for that model. you could try getting a bad one on ebay that has a different problem and swap the parts.

Infocus X1a no picture, solid green LED

if the lamp is new, it could be the power supply (the ballast is built in to the ps). but make sure you have the right lamp. the X1 and X1a have an sp-lamp-019 and the similar X2 and X3 have an sp-lamp-018. the lamps are almost identical except for the wire configuration on the lamp plug. make sure the wires in the plug match the positions in the socket. also, when you turn it on, if you don't hear a high pitch squeal, the colorwheel is not working. and if that isn't working, the lamp won't either. also check to see if the lamp door is closing properly and hitting the switch at the top of the opening.

Missing power cable for Bose Sounddock

Repair may the only solution. The new power supply is only slightly different though.. If you don't want to spent the $100 to repair this, you could get the new supply and carve a notch in the top part of the square power input.. Looking at the new power supply, the top is a bit taller and arched but the same specs..
But the new power supply is still expensive. (I think $60+) So for an additional $40 ($100 total) you can get a new supply retrofitted on to the old input. It's worth it- you get a new 1 year warranty, and they put the new Apple dock connector on there (USB charge pin) as well as the power supply, so you can use current iPods as well as old. (Your SD currently won't support- iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 2ng gen, or iPod Nano 4th gen.. it will after a repair)

Infocus projector power supply dead

the caps dry out. look for bulging caps. you won't find a schematic for the ps boards. infocus had someone else make them. the problem seems more like a overheating issue. as for the other one with the "just the fans", check the colorwheel.

Infocus X3 light tunnel

Are you speaking of the small prism shaped tunnel or the lamp itself? The prism or light tunnel may be accessed underneath the metal bracket that holds the color wheel in place. Be extremely careful as even breathing on this may cause it to collapse (ok, I exaggerate).
