SOURCE: Water leaking from portable air conditioner

First, make sure the unit is level. If so, you have a blockage or kink in the drain tube. Careful inspection should reveal any blockage, & you may be able to poke it thru with a piece of coathanger wire. Don't use excessive force, any block should be easily freed.

SOURCE: looking for bottom drain plug for MPM1-10CR-BB6

This is a window unit? If so the unit should not be level. Should be lower on outside end. You may have to drill a hole in a vcorner outside to allow drainage. Good Luck

SOURCE: Sunbeam KY-25 portable air conditioner not working.

One major problem i had with mine was the special 3prong safety reset ac outlet plug in power cord. I replaced that cord with a contractor type used for job site power cords which i had purchased from my local home depot electrical department replacement parts section. You may also have to remove the entire back conver and check the main fuse on a processor circuit board which is clearly visible on the left rear mid mounted corner inside the back of the portable ac unit.

Contact sharp for the replacement remote. As for the water the drain should discharge to a pan through a tube or a cap covers the drain hole. When it gets full it leaks out onto the floor. Also when it ices inside through prolonged use and can leak out through the edges to the bottom.

Sharp 10000 BTU 38db portable air conditioner blows cold air for 2 minutes then blows warm air for 5 minutes then turns off for 20 minutes then repeats this process. How can I fix this problem to blowing...

sounds like the unit has a low charge and is cutting out on a low press safety. This is more then likey not something you can fit yourself most of this units are not really serviceable with out cutting the lines open and adding a valve. If the unit is still somewhat new you can try for a warranty repair, if not you are better off to replace it.

I have a Maytag portable air conditioner (about 5

when the compressor shuts off most of the freon goes to low side(cold) when it starts..it has a lot of freon to move and it works hard and you hear it loud after it has moved most of the freon over to the high side, the sound is less so not to worry it's normal if it clicks when it starts then you worry

This is a stand alone portable 10,000 sharp portable AC

I had the same issue of filling up after a couple hours but mine started making some pretty loud noises as well just before shutting itself down and lighting all three lights. The top drain valve would no longer work and the only way I could drain it was through the bottom (gravity) drain valve. I took the unit apart and found that the simple water pump that is used for draining and the evaporating process had lost the thin filter screen on the bottom and the screen became lodged in the impeller of the pump preventing it from spinning. I removed the worn and broken plastic screen, carefully pushed the impeller back up on the shaft until it bottomed out, and cleaned all the built up sediment off the entire pump. After reassembling everything, the ac unit runs like new again and the noise is completely gone. Cost? $0
I imagine you can just order a new pump from sharp and save the time and effort of cleaning the pump.
Hope this helps!

Air conditioner has to be reset --E1

If your a/c unit is portable, and E1 code most always is "air filter cleaning time" or" water level to high ".
To reset air filter interval turn unit off at power switch then unplug.Hold power switch down while plugging in....unit will go through a short self check then beep.Release power button after beep.Unit should now be reset.
To reset water level....just drain some.....not all.
Most portables use water for increase cooling......so leave some in.

GE Portable Airconditioner - Model APN10AA Serial # GG509122

Ours was leaking water. After taking the covers off, cleaning it,and draining all the water out, I started getting the same problem with the light coming on every 7 minutes. I actually added some water to the system till it was too full and then drained it out through the plug. The light still came on every 7 minutes until I turned the unit off and then unplugged it for a few minutes. I plugged it back in, turned it on and reset the temperature. It seemed to reset itself and kept running normally. BB
