Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
My tv will try to come on but turns right back off and will continue to do this a couple times and then stays off. There is no picture or sound. I have a model D52w19b
Service # D52W20YX1 - Serial #D206C109F - MODEL # D52W20 - CHASIS # ATC221.. No Power/Relay or (button) clicks but does not come on period. I Called company for service & paid them $60.00 for home service call. I was told that they needed to work on the power board - $50.00 to pick up TV & $350.00 - $450.00 to repair. Than if they cannot get it to work, you will probably need a power board which runs up to $700.00. At the moment I am looking for a refur, next I need someone to take the board out & replace it. Since I paid the first $60.00 for them for the house visit, I have 30 days to make my decision about the repairs. One thing, I never had any problems with TV until I purchased a Wii game
& put it on the TV. However, we never left it sitting. I purchased the TV in 2001 new, now I am moving on Sept. 1st and will not have my TV for my greatroom - TV is 52." Signed: Miss my TV.
This problem seems to be with most RCA models D52W20YX1. Mine started right after the warranty ran out one year after I bought it brand NEW… It shuts down after being on for a while (like it over heats) I took the front off mine and stuck a box fan in front of it and it quit shutting down. I think RCA knew these TV’s had problems with the circuit boards. I think RCA knew the Circuit boards had bad capacitors and sold them anyways! Just look at the complaints here… I found it odd to find so many with the same problems I have.

Hi, I have a 2002 RCA Model # D52W20 tv. The problem is that it randomly shuts off and then back on again. It is random, sometimes not watchable at all and other times it will stay on for hours until it begins clicking off and then on. How do you fix this? Is this something an average person can repair after ordering parts? The picture is awesome on this tv and I hate to throw it out, but I don't want to sink money into an 8 year old tv, unless it is reasonable. From what I understand about tv repair people, things can get unreasonably expensive. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks, Linda
