My computer will not come on , it is plugged the screem is in power save , it sound like it's dead, I have no solution can you help

Check the power supply first to make sure it hasn't gone bad. Note: I had a case where somebody changed the input voltage from 115V to 230V. It did not work on a 120 Volt outlet until I discovered the red slide switch on the back of the power supply was in the wrong position. Maybe somebody thought it was an on/off switch. It isn't often that people get off so easily, but it's worth a look.

(The voltage setting switch is next to the power cord socket, is generally recessed slightly so it's hard to mess with it. Usually it's colored red, but is sometimes black, and is always marked 115V in the correct position for U. S. operation. If it reads 230V that is the problem, unless you are outside North America and using 230 Volt power. In that situation setting it to 115V may cause major damage.)

Can't boot up Dell 5100 Dimension, amber light flashes

When you mean the amber light, is that the blinking hard drive access light or the power light? Different cases have different colors on it. Mine has blue and green lights.

If you see the boot screen (bios) and then after it goes to boot, does it blink and hang?

This could be a simple operating system issue, hard drive or hardware/motherboard issue. If you could provide more information, that would help.

Colors are messed up

If You are using a CRT monitor (older Monitors similar to a TV) It may be time to replace it

Also you can try right clicking in a empty space on your desk top
go to properties>settings and check to see if your color quality is set to 32-bit

Double check you monitor connection

If all else fails your video adapter could be failing or you Monitor(VGA/DVI) cable is going bad

My E drive is missing from my computer....

I am confused as to what the drive is. Are you talking about the hard drive (stores data), optical drive (reads and writes data on a disc). Please update your post.

Not the power supply!

Hi

To help troubleshoot a problem, Dell Dimension 5100 has four diagnostic lights labeled "1," "2," "3," "4" on the front panel. When the computer starts normally, the lights flash. After the computer starts, all four lights lites solid green. The power button also lites solid green. If the computer malfunctions, the color and sequence of the diagnostic lights as well as the power button helps identifies the problem.

First, disconnect the power cord and remove all connections (Keyboard, Network, Mouse etc) as well as optional PCI Cards. Connect up the power cord (Monitor as well) and try powering the PC.
Check the diagnostic lights/system lights color and sequence and check the link below for more info (Assuming you have another system that can access internet)
Diagnostic Lights - http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5100/en/sm/tshoot1.htm#wp1120147
System Lights - http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5100/en/sm/tshoot1.htm#wp1114432

Reply with lights color and sequence as well as any beep codes and I will respond at best effort.

Mike
