You have a virus of some kind on board.Try restoring your computer to an earlier date using restore under Device Manager and then run an anti-virus scan on your PC.

Menu keep on blinking

Disconnect the monitor from the computer. Then turn on the monitor, if the menu keeps on blinking then that means the screen is starting to go bad and the monitor needs to be replaced.
You can also hook up the monitor to another computer. If the blinking stops then that means its an issue with the video card in your original computer.

Reset bios on acer aspire e380

Hi,

You can reset BIOS setting by CMOS jumper setting. Please follow the below steps: Open the Laptop back panel. Locate the CMOS battery, remove it & then with the help of a screw driver keep on pressing the terminal inside it and turn ON the computer for 10 secs and Turn Off (make sure you keep on pressing the terminal with a screwdriver while turning ON). It will clear the BIOS setting. Now, fix the CMOS battery & restart the computer. This will take care of the issue.

If the computer still does not boot, then it needs repair.

Thanks and regards,
Jitha

It appears that Operating system is failing to load. Try the steps below:

2. As soon as you power button to turn ON the computer keep on tapping the F8 key, it will boot to Advance boot menu,
3. Select Safemode with the help of Down arrow keys and hit Enter
4. If the computer is booting to Safemode then there is no hardware failure, you can try full system restore.

To do a full system restore, please follow the below mentioned steps:
1. Turn Off the computer
2. As soon as you hit the power button keep on holding the Alt key and keep on tapping the F10 key ie Alt+F10
3. It will boot to Acer Recovery Console

My Dell optiplex 170L keeps turining off and then

Possible that it's caused by a faulty hardware or a computer virus on your computer. For us to isolate the issue we must start troubleshooting with the hardware

1. Remove all the connection at the back of your computer
2. Power cycle your computer tower by pressing the power button for 15 seconds
3. Plug the power cord back in and monitor cable at the back of your computer tower (if it turned on, meaning that one of the device plugged at the back of your computer is the one's causing the problem, for you to pin point the problem, try plugging it one-by-one and turn on the computer each time you plug a device)
4. If it keeps on doing that, open up your computer tower (be careful to unplug the power cord and power cycle it to avoid static electricity)
5. Reseat the video card, turn on the computer again, if it's still occurring
6. Reseat the IDE/Sata cable of your hard drive and try to make sure it's properly plugged in, turn on the computer again, if it's still occurring
7. Reseat the memory, turn on the computer and test it again if the same thing
8. If you have 2 memory chip inserted in your computer tower memory slot, remove the other one and turn on the computer, do the same thing to other memory and each slot
9. If all else fails, restart the computer and keep on pressing F8 before the window welcome screen comes up - to go to advanced boot options
10. Boot to Safemode
11. If you are able to boot to Safemode
12. Login as administrator
13. Click start
14. run
15. type msconfig then press enter
16. click on startup tab and click on disable all button at the bottom part
17. Restart the computer and let it start normally
18. if the same thing happen, boot to safemode again
19. Login to administrator again
20. Right click my computer
21. Click on properties
22. Click on Advanced Tab
23. Click on settings button under Startup and Failure
24. Uncheck the Automatically restart under System failure
25. Restart the computer in normal mode
26. Tell us if you see any blue screen error, if so, post the error here

if all else fail, your operating system needed to be reinstalled and you should have the cd for the operating system if it's XP or Vista or Windows 7.

Pc keeps turning itself off

I would suggest you first disconnect the computer and give it a good cleaning inside. It may just have so much dust inside that it is overheating. Here are detailed instructions on how to do it. http://www.directron.com/cleaning.html

Unable to reboot

Sounds to me like you have a bad or dying power supply. Try finding a friend with a working power supply and hook it up to your computer, if the problem ceases, then go get yourself a new power supply. If the problem persists, it may be an issue with cables or the fuse, maybe even a bad motherboard.

Bios set 08-08-2008 resets to 31-07-2007 every time i turn computer off.turn computer off then turn on it resets its self to 2007.turn power off and on at power switch. computer starts on own i do not push...

- do a bios update (or downgrade if needed) to see if it fixes the issue

- but probably the BIOS battery is not keeping the proper voltage anymore, and it automatically resets the BIOS (do the bios setting that u change, remain changed after unpluging/pluging the comp ?!). Try keeping the computer pluged in for a day and see if the battery charged properrly (if the set date remains )... if not ..change the battery.

- as for the self starting, there is a setting in the BIOS, that activates/dissables that ! - see u;re user manual ...
