I keep trying to add cyan to my Brother MFC 420 cn and it says I have to add cartridges when i already have them in. What gives?

- It is telling me to replace all of my cartridges and I have they are all full of ink. I took them out and cleaned all around where they go in. It is still giving me that message- sandyb989

switch off the printer..... remove the cartridges... gently clean the sensor area. re -fix the cartridges and switch on......
